To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

I thought Arsenal was the number one slut-bunny.

I think it kind of comes down to Arsenal having to try, whereas with Nightwing it sort of happens despite himself. He is a tragic ho.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

He is a tragic ho.

I think we need to further explore what intrinsic flaw in Dick's character makes him a massive ho-bag. For purely scientific purposes, of course.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I think we need to further explore what intrinsic flaw in Dick's character makes him a massive ho-bag.

A gymnast's body, a tragic past and the inability to say, "No"?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, and I don't like the Endsong art. Sure, it's not what you were talking about, but still.

He's not capturing motion for shit, although his poses are pretty.

A gymnast's body, a tragic past and the inability to say, "No"?

Well, when you put it that way ...

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Also, Ultimate Nightmare ended up being about Galactus or something. And there's going to be a Book Two for some reason.

Spider-Man India pulled the classic Green Goblin trick: this time, it was Meera Jain or Aunt Maya. Interestingly enough, in this title, Meera Jain finds out his secret identity. No hoopla. Huh. I don't think I'll bother with it, though.

Need to go to comic store tomorrow.

Huh. That's what's going on with Ultimate NIghtmare? I called that, like, at the beginning, but then discounted it. Huh.

A gymnast's body, a tragic past and the inability to say, "No"?

Yeah, that about sums it up.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I think we need to further explore what intrinsic flaw in Dick's character makes him a massive ho-bag.

He's incredibly needy and so the slightest glimmer of interest from anyone sets off his "Lovemelovemeloveme!!! Must...Make...You...Love...Me!" response.

I don't think it's conscious at all, but damn, is that boy needy.

In fact, while trying to decribe to my co-worker the NW arc that culminated in NW #93 (with -- somehow -- a tangent off to War Games and how everyone Tim Drake even glances at gets iced these days), I realized that at this specific moment in Bat-time, I really think that both Birdboys are more fucked in the head than Batman is.

I think Batman still wins the Fucked-Up Sweepstakes, but that's a cumulative thing. When looking at it by pulling out slices of time, Tim and Dick are so much more fucked up right now than Bruce is.

Though that's not to say that Bruce is *normal.* Not at all. No, he's still Crazy Flying Rodent Man. It's just that -- the Blockbuster debacle wore Dick down to one tiny frayed nerve, which then snapped and fell into battery acid, and Tim -- well, like I said, Tim is like the fucking Grim Reaper lately.

Does that sound about right, or am I totally off the mark?

From Popcultureshock.com's "Teen Titants #20 Remix. Funny, but in terrible taste:

Robin: "Least dad went out in style. He died doing what he loved: Killing Australian people."

Victor, that link doesn't work. I think you need to go to the entire page.

Should be working now.
