Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Re: this week's pull:

I like Firestorm. Good stuff, and next issue looks interesting too.

Phoenix Endsong continues to make Logan/Jean look much more mythic and interesting than Scott/Jean. Even though I'm biased, this seems odd.

UXM: What the HELL? How is it possible that Storm (love her as I may) and Bishop can beat Wolverine in unpowered combat? His powers DON'T TURN OFF. He must have been going light. Otherwise it's crack. X23 is in jeopardy of being Sabretooth and Batgirl's love child. Not as appealing as I might have thought.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Wait a sec, there's a new UXM out? Comiclist didn't tell me that! I thought I had nothing to read this week!

Oh wait a sec, you're talking Uncanny, not Ultimate, aren't you.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Nothing? Why aren't you reading Ult. Spidey, you Bendis junkie?

ETA: Though this week's was only so-so, mostly flashbacks and setup.

I really should, but I feel way too behind, though that didn't stop me from jumping into Ult. X-Men. I did read the first USM trade and liked it.

I have electronic copies of the first 40 or 50 issues (which I'm in the process of replacing with the trades). If you'd like I can slap them on a CD and send them your way.

Ladies and gentlemen, I think I have a new pusher.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Agreed. I've really enjoyed the fact that the dynamic between Jason and his dad isn't at all a simple black and white thing, because it would have been so easy to paint the dad as your stock abusive asshole parent, instead of what they've been doing, which is exploring a guy who, while basically decent at his core, reached the end of his rope on many levels before the book even began. I also really like Jason. He's a smart kid, but really obviously still a kid in many ways, and acts like one.

(Of course, my whitefont probably didn't need to be whitefont, because it really has very little to do with the last issue.)

Which, from where I'm sitting, was a great balance of action and character development, and I'm really hoping Ronnie gets to stick around in Jason's brain.

I used to collect Firestorm in the 80s, so it's interesting that Ronnie is being written pretty much the same and I like how different that is from Jason.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I didn't have a single comic this week. However, when SA visited, she hooked me up with a bunch of comics on CD (as, for instance, Transmetropolitan). So I have plenty to read.
