No, she wasn't there. Maybe they were getting their black voice actors mixed up?

Why was there fear for this ep?
Because of the Wondertwins
ETA context
That's what I figured. And they were lame. How many different sorts of sea words does one need? Tidal wave? Sea surface? Dude -- you're water. And messy, at that. When you leave a character wet, is that bits of you, or what? The sister was a bit weird too. A swimming T Rex? What's that about? Avoiding being an actual aquatic animal, in case Aquaman gets you, but how long can you hold your breath? At least there was a bit of variety, and they evidently didn't need to change at the same time.
I liked the episode and the shout-outs. And the Wondertwins were just as lame as they were in Superfriends. So that didn't bother me.
Oh, I thought they were much less lame.
Yeah. I was wondering why they decided to go after Aquaman of all people. I mean, if Drippy can become a room full of water why not single out any other member of the League who has to breathe air. Boom. Fight over. No muss, no fuss. Instead, they actually made things easier on Aquaman. Not that I'm complaining about them being potrayed as that stupid. And the backhand was incredibly amusing, even if it was delivered by someone who was only marginally less lame in the old cartoon.
Cereal:
Oh, I thought they were much less lame.
I agree. Though they were still lame. They were just downgraded from a full-on headbanger chorus to a single "lame".
And they took away their monkey.
I remember Wizard having a comic strip crossover between the modern JLA and the Superfriends at one point. I think Despero incinerated Gleek and left a charred little skeleton like in a Roadrunner cartoon.
