Yeah, I know, I had an order in for a Tara. First of all, I really want her/it and second, I hate trying to get my money back from places. Sigh.

Discussion of Buffy and Angel comics, books, and more. Please don't get into spoilery details in the first week of release.
I don't know where else to put this question - it's kind of on-topic (but not really).
Anyone see the special on the History channel last night on the history of comics and superheros? I believe it was called Superheros Unmasked: the History of the Comic or something along those lines.
It had interviews with everyone, was very interesting, I didn't even *know* that there was a governmental comic advisory board, nor did I know that the modern Sandman was an amalgamation (sortanotreallybutsorta) of old characters called Sandman.
I learned lots - is this the first time this has been on or is it a repeat I wonder.
Repeat, but it only first played earlier this month, late last month.
Saturday, ComicCon
4:30–5:30 Buffy and Angel writers: The Demise of Buffy and the Mystique of Angel— Join an adventure into the minds behind the words as Buffy and Angel scriptwriters reveal all. Hear how they took Angel's one-shot guest role on Buffy into a spinoff—and laid seven seasons' worth of track for that last big train (bus?) ride to the Hellmouth. Panelists include David Fury (writer, producer, actor, director), who has worn all hats for Buffy and is now executive producer for Angel’s fifth season; Steven S. DeKnight, writer/director/producer for Angel and writer for Buffy’s fifth and sixth seasons; co-writers Sarah Fain and Elizabeth Craft, who have written for Angel since Season 4; Jeffrey Bell, writer/producer/director for Angel, promoted to co-executive producer and new head writer at the start of Season 4; Drew Goddard, writer for Buffy in its seventh season; and Ben Edlund, writer/producer/director (best known as the creator of The Tick), who Ben joined Angel in 2002–03. Sponsored by CityofAngel.com and moderated by Buffy and Angel book author Nancy Holder. Room 6CDEF
So who else is going to be there?
Reading my comicgeek!co-worker's August Wizard and there is a sidebar about the top five Buffy comic stories they want to see and two of them are just so delicious I want them to happen now.
One is Angel in Hell - the Buffy line editor, Scott Allie, says that he stayed away from that because he thought they would get into it on the show. (???Does he mean BtVS or AtS I wonder and why couldn't they still get into it on AtS? - I mean, I doubt they will, but they could.) Anyway, now he says they they feel they can do this. Yummm.
Another is Faith Year One - Allie is quoted as saying that "The first thing Joss ever wanted to write for us was Faith, but instead he did Fray." But also says that he thinks if Joss ever did do Faith - it would be post- Chosen and not Year One. But - personally, I think a pre-Buffy Faith story arc would rawk.
Kay. That's your reporting for today. There is also a great little Fray drawing with her talking about Firefly.
eta: Now I can't stop thinking about the before-Faith-met-Buffy thing. Can't stop. Faith dealing with her first Watcher getting all killed by Toquitos the Hoofed Vamp w/sidekick Mr. Trick. (uhm and maybe some nekkid alligator wrastlin'). Do this one! I want them to do this one! (Yeah. I know they won't.)
News from San Diego, as reported here (warning: The Angel Casting Spoiler is mentioned) at Comic Book Resources:
With Fray #8 soon to hit stores (August 6), Joss announced that a second Fray mini-series is in the works. Also, the Tales of the Vampires anthology will be coming out, and there may even be a Faith series produced (maybe that Faith Year One mentioned in tina's post?).
I'm sure CaBill will be able to fill us in on the details when he gets back from Comic-con.

Seriously? Excellent. I really dig Fray. And, as always, I am Urkonn's bitch.

With a new artist, I presume.
If not, Melika herself will have the chance to read the final issue hot off the presses.
