Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

A friend sent me the first Runaways TPB, and it doesn't feel significantly younger than Ultimate Spiderman.

It was fun, and too damned short.

They mention Batman! It was really weird. They mention him like we'd mention him (well, without porn) -- like the Avengers were real, and Batman a cultural ref.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

What's the pitch for Marvel Age?

I believe Marvel Age is a re-doing the original issues, but "modernized". So it's kinda like Ultimate, but it sticks to canon and I think there's an issue-to-issue mirror with the orginal comics from the 60s. I haven't read any of them, but I asked myself the same question a few months ago and that's what I was able to find out.

I don't think so, because the Runaways seem to exist in the current Marvel Universe, but I've never heard of them before. And there's the whole Spidergirl is the kid of Peter Parker thing, too.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

This article describes Marvel Age titles: "Marvel has announced Marvel Age, a new imprint of 'all ages' comic books targeting both new and young readers.  Marvel Age comics will reprint 'some of the best Marvel stories of the last few years,' and, more controversially, update 'some of the greatest stories from Marvel mythology.' "

Ah. Whoops. Nevermind then. Guess I should have been a little more thorough in my original search for information.

How very confusing. They need a FAQ with their imprints.

Thanks, Steph!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Mock if you must, but the fuckers broke my bra this afternoon while I was out for a spot of lunch with a friend.

Bosom of doom. ijs. In fact, I think you need to share that bosom of doom picture with the class. If you don't have it, I'm sure Teppy has it on her hard drive.

I think I might have a couple of Bosom of Doom pictures on my computer at home -- so you might have to specify which picture.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I think I'm uncomfortable with the way this conversation is heading...

Also, that I have to get off the computer now to keep my kitten from destroying the house, and that perhaps naming her Lady Shiva was a bit of a mistake, and that I should have found a mellow character to name her after.
