Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sumi, I snickered like a twelve year old over that particular scene in Batman.

Astounishing kinda rent me. This was my first Catwoman, and is it always that pornily drawn? Slopey pointy tits and crotch shots? Ick. Haven't finished Batman yet, but I like that particular subplot a lot. It gets me emotionally.

Art Crawl!!!

I think that I would have been more broken by Astounishing if I had come in knowing more about Colossus then I do.

And given that Catwoman is Bruce's booty call. .. probably.

See, I've loved poor Colossus forever, and was broken up when he died. I totally fell for the misdirection of expecting a different not!dead person. He's such a poor, noble yet not icky, sweetheart. Plus, KitiNClossis4EVA!!!1!

"Don't think of yourself as an organic pain collector racing towards oblivion." Dogbert to Dilbert

This was my first Catwoman, and is it always that pornily drawn?

It has been since issue #25, when the new art team of Paul Gulacy and Jimmy Plamiotti took over. Before that, the pop-noir art of first Darwyn Cooke and then Cameron Stewart was praised in many (intelligent) circles. I know that I loved that style, it really gave the title a different feel than the other Bat-books (heck, different than most other superhero titles) and really fit in with Brubaker's writing sensisbilities.

Gulacy has been quoted that he "knows what the fans want" and will draw the title the he has been, regardless of the way the title was before.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am an idiot and have one too many IC#1 and Fables #28. Anyone want them?

Taken by surprise by Astounishing. I was absolutely watching the wrong hand.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Hec and I missed out on IC#1. I wouldn't care so much, but he'd be all bouncy if we could have your extra.

It's yours. Send an address to my profile address and I'll put it in the mail this weekend.

Cheapest wedding present ever. And late.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

The local Newbury's had bothered to put out today's books yet when I was there tonight. Bother.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Random wondering: Is/was Louis E. Grieve somebody in particular? I mean, aside from being the namesake of a fictional high school? Neither google nor my internal brain serves up either a 'verse character or an obvious subject for a tribute (the way it would be if it were, say, Julie Schwartz HS). But doesn't sound to me like a generic made-up name, either.

Thrive to spite them

I went to "my" store after work---Batman and Catwoman were SOLD OUT. Asked about The Outsiders, was told it came out last week and they were sold out. For some reason I thought it didn't come out last week.

Buy Astonishing X Men, Superman, Wonder Woman, a back issue of BoP, and um issue 1 of some X men title I'm blanking on.

Then I go sit in the car and read Astonishing. Well, not so much read as skim through until the last few pages and the last panel killed me. DEAD. guh!

Then I went to the other store that's open after 5:30 and they didn' thave Batman or Catwoman. But I found the one War GAmes issue I am missing, but dind't buy it because I didn't have any cash on me and they don't allow debit card purchases under a certain amount.

I'm starting a file at my store so this doesn't happen again.
