The Ultimate-verse seems to be expanding mutancy -- Spiderman's some sort of forced mutation -- is that true in normal Marvel?
Not really, but it makes far more sense than otherwise, because really, I can't see how there would be a fundamental genetic difference.
Justice League Unlimited! With
Supergirl, Green Arrow, and Some Other Guy
!! Plus brand new Teen Titans! Tonight!
So I read
Tim Drake, Boy Stalker
today. I loved all the Two-Face business, especially the mindgame between him and Batman as they both try to play each other while admitting their being played. And of course, he's the perfect villain for a story that focuses on recreating the Dynamic
Duo.
I'm still finding it really hard to imagine a twelve-year-old fighting crime, though. It'd be like Encyclopedia Brown getting his name by throwing encyclopedias at his enemies.
I dreamed about the DC-verse last night, particularly Bats and Tim, but also some Kon and Kid Flash and Babs.
I blame Plei. (Though the fact that I was reading TT right before I fell asleep is probably the immediate cause.)
Teppy -- TT question based on tonight's episode and the fact that I've only seen a few previous episodes. Was tonight the only time that Tara (Terra?) was on the show?
I missed tonight's episode, dang it! Because I was busy puking in public (see Bitches for the full story) and forgot to set my VCR. But no, she was in 2 episodes last season.
Did you also miss Justice League Unlimited?
JLU gets rerun tomorrow at 5:00 Eastern, TT gets rerun at 10:00pm.
I like the fact that they kept so much of the comics characterization of
Green Arrow.
Though that is NOT the voice for the character in my head!
I can see some real possibilities for them to do good work even within the larger cast, half-hour format, but mostly, I understand their stated desire to play with all the cool toys in the DCU before they end their run (one of the creators has already left WB animation, and it's likely the other will follow within the next couple of years), and if they're going to do interesting riffs on comics characterization, I say bring it on! Though I still have to remind myself to d/l the s2 JLA episodes so I can have them forever and ever...
