Willow: Something evil-crashed to earth in this. Then it broke out and slithered away to do badness. Giles: Well, in all fairness, we don't really know about the "slithered" part. Anya: No, no, I'm sure it frisked about like a fluffy lamb.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

A better example would be coming into Buffy during season 6 with "Two to Go", without having seen "Seeing Red" and the other recent episodes that led up to it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Fyarl demon

They're supposed to be really stupid and fighty. So I don't think Urkonn is.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

Also, mucus.

Another social casualty...

Isn't mucus a trait of the chaos demon? One the Dru left Spike for? I don't remember Fyarl!Giles being mucusy.

Hmm...well, I did get into Buffy via OMWF in season six, so I guess that's sorta like stepping into Fray with the next to last issue. ;)

You know, I think that's probably a good analogy for what I was saying. I imagine that I would have enjoyed OMWF had I never seen BtVS before. But the depth and the colour I get from the episode certainly comes from knowing each of the character's histories. That's definitely where my emotional response to them comes from.

Reading Fray 7 at this point won't (really) spoil you for 1 through 6, but having read the first half dozen, you'll get so much more out of 7.

Fyarl demons have that paralyzing mucus they can shoot through the nose, which grossed out Giles quite a bit when Spike told him about it.

Yeah, I have a terrifying memory for trivia. My math homework, on the other hand, not so much.

Math homework is way overrated. Especially on a Saturday night.

Well, I certainly wasn't gonna do it now anyway.

Diablo Robotico Up.

Holy Jumping Jesuits...

What kind of role does Fray occupy in the "chronology" of the Slayerverse, or Jossverse, or whatever the proper term is. I understand the basics, and am impressed with the way Melaka Fray is portrayed, but is this off-continuity, or so far into the future you just have to accept the 200-year jump and be done with it?

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

It's possible continuity. Joss and others have hinted that it might be the way Buffy turns out, but nothing specific.
