You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Applying this to the JLA makes my head hurt.

Not at all. How long's Batman been around? 10 years? 20 years? The reason it's inconsistent is that it's all a dream!

The only things set in the "real" world are the Vertigo stories like Books of Magic, Swamp Thing and Hellblazer, which is why sometimes they seem to live in the same world as Superman and the rest, and sometimes they don't!

Certainlymakes Lyta Hall's story more comprehensible.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

That's a pretty sharp idea, and it might explain why the DC Comics website has Watchmen on their DC Universe Graphic Novels page.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Hee. I was specifically thinking of the Daniel-Dream guest spot making my head explode.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Okay, the new Powers #1...is it just starting over, or are they continuing where they left off?

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I believe they are continuing where they left off. I think they're restarting the numbering because they are moving to Marvel.

Good. Just wanted to be sure.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

It continues where it left off. Six months later, actually.

And damn. Holy fuck, he killed Kutter. And I mean, for new readers, he's just a random guy, but for those of us who've been reading from the beginning, he's a pretty prominent minor character! And he just offs him! Like that!

One of the distinct things about Powers is its use of bubble layout (to mirror the flow of actual dialogue) and panel structure. There's also the rampant cursing.

And at the end, dude, is that fucking Retro Girl? If so, it's way cool that the first issue of Volume I ended with her death, and the first issue of Volume II begins with her return. If not, I'm not sure what the hell's going on. Of course, that holds either way.

You never had a dream within a dream?

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Got the new Ult. Spidey. Finally we're getting some actual character interaction and stuff, not just "must advance plot". But I can't believe they killed Gwen off like that. I mean it was pretty much a given that something like that was going to happen eventually, based on the original comics, but it still seemed rather abrupt. I suppose her original death was similarly sudden. Though at least there was some build-up in that one. It's especially disappointing after she and MJ finally have a good talk and I'm definitely going to miss the character.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Kalshane, you do know about the spoiler font shortcut, right?
