Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I did a threadsuck, and now many posts make more sense. You were indeed perplexed. Trade paperbacks make you crazy.

Save you money, confuse your mind.

5 volumes, right? Maybe I'll just have bn.com send me the rest.

I am hating the art so far in #2.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

ita, #2 is the only one I own (Half-Price Books have good prices but hit-or-miss inventory), and I think it's the one whose art I dislike the most.

I have to go take a walk, and then I can read Batgirl Year One. I made a deal with myself.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh, crap, it's a big deal about who the Batgirl is? Damn, and I accidentally spoiled myself.

I don't know if it's a big deal -- but if it's told as part of this narrative, that's how I want to find out.

Thrive to spite them

I went to the comic book store today even though I knew new comics were being delayed, but I wanted to pick up more issues of The Titans.

At this point I have 1-18 and I really like the series and the characters although I'm confused about the back ground of a few characters. Like Argent and Damage. And there maybe were two Flashes?

But there's lots of Roy in this and also Lian. Not to mention plenty of moments that show exactly what big man-hos Roy and Dick are.

Did this turn into Young Justice?

Also while I was there one employee and another customer were pimping the Ultimate titles -- XMen, FF, Spidey...and what's the other? But I held off I'm not sure if I want to start reading them and I know if I start with one series I'll want to read all the back issues.

The other employee kept saying "The Preacher. Finally I looked at a tpb of that but...I'm not sure...The premise sounds interesting but I'm not sure about spending the money on tpb and then not liking it.

However, I do have Bruce Wayne: Fugitive on order.

Well, there's The Ultimates.

Yeah, I've been wondering about that one too.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Basically, this version of the Titans had all the originals, and a rep or two from each later era. Argent and Damage were in later, fairly brief-lived versions, both of which Roy was involved with, but not so much Donna or Nightwing. The female flash is Jesse Quick, daughter of the WWII heroes Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle.

Unfortunately, this series eventually runs out of steam toward the end.

Did this turn into Young Justice?

No. YJ was running at the same time, and the two teams converged in a story called "Graduation Day," which pretty much broke up both teams. Cyborg reformed the Titans, inviting the YJ kids, and Roy formed the Outsiders.

The other employee kept saying "The Preacher. Finally I looked at a tpb of that but...I'm not sure...The premise sounds interesting but I'm not sure about spending the money on tpb and then not liking it.

Preacher was enjoyable all the way through. Interestingly, I read it all when I worked at Borders, and just bought "Gone to Texas," as I've decided I need to own it all.

Preacher was enjoyable all the way through.

It's over? As in, the story has come to a well-defined conclusion so that I may endeavor to read it all via trades in bookstores without worrying about how "behind" I am?

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Hec and I have the Preacher TPBs, vols. 1- (scampers off and checks, scampers back) 9. I don't actually know whether Hec has read them, but I have, twice -- liked the series much on the first read, found it improved on the second. askye, P-C, wanna borrow the first two and try them for free?
