with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Lucifer, I loved at first, until it became all about the battle for control of Heaven. Zzzzzz.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Oh, dude.

So, in some ways, it?s an the inner mission issue, if you will, where we build up to what?s happened, here?s why it?s untenable, and here is this amazingly bright and motivated and dedicated character deciding that he?s had enough and he?s gotta do something really different that he?s never done before.

Am I excited? Yes, I am excited.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Excited. VERY. Yes.

Comics today (Richard Dragon is coming in late. I'll get it Saturday.):

Batman 629: Huh. There are downsides to running with the slash crew, like having to go back and re-read sections after reminding yourself "think clean thoughts, chum." Dear Judd: please mind the subtext there, eh? I'm curious to re-read this once it's concluded. I'm not sure how I feel about the story, though I like the writing and (mostly) like the art. Don't care for how DN draws Alfred or Tim, though.

Batgirl 53: it's very Steph-centric, and as a result felt like a rehash of things we've read back in Robin 112-113 or so. Cass was really a secondary character in her own title, and it felt forced, in the way that issues that are laying ground for a possible main event feel.

Green Lantern 178: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it's another break up for the men of DC as John Stewart gets dumped! Decent, though. Marz is hit or miss for me. He doesn't normally write the layers to Kyle that Winick and others have managed, but I'm enjoying the storyline with Fatality.

Batman: Harley and Ivy 3: giggle. That was a fun, silly ride.

Art Crawl!!!

Batman 629: I was going to ask about the way that Robin was drawn. I was surprised at how child-like he was drawn, but then I thought that they wanted the contrast with the Jason Nightmare.

Also -- Teppy the Big Giant Crossover doesn't start 'til August.

And I read Bruce Wayne: Murderer and found some confusing things -- but I think I need to read stuff in between NML and this.

And I don't like the way that Steph is drawn (in Robin) -- but I looked at the preview for DC in Comics Continuum and I don't like the way she is drawn there either.

Thank goodness -- more time to save up my pennies so I can buy every. single. Bat. title.

Only just *now*?

OH!

Amych, there's a panel in Batgirl I need to scan and make icons with for you. Speaking of.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Has it gotten any better?

The current storyline has interesting implications, as the assorted characters deal with the mess now that Jehovah has left the building. Next issue begins in Destiny's home, presumably with him (and perhaps other Endless) telling Lucifer, Michael, and Elaine exactly how badly the clockwork universe is going to wind down now that the watchmaker isn't maintaining it. Remains to be seen whether they'll be able to do anything good with the story potential, though.
