Simon: I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can... How do I know you won't kill me in my sleep? Mal: You don't know me, son. So let me explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

I may have to seize the cat.

Far from caught up. Just wanted to say that while I was out today getting Astonishing #2, I also got Batman: Year One. It was remarkably well-priced, and the comic book shop's $10 or more credit card rule applied. Because I only had $2 cash.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Sumi: during Hush, when they were sort of involved, which would answer the second question. IIRC, though, Bruce has known Selina was Catwoman for a while (they know each other as Bruce and Selina as well, natch, and have a history of sorts). His reveal to her of his ID was a big effin deal in Hush.

Thanks.

move out and draw fire

Is there a website that lists all the issues of any particular title?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Read Astonishing. It was good, and Joss is quite obviously a Kitty Pryde fan. Loved Beast's suggestion that Scott and Logan fight on the lawn again, possibly for a beer. Regarding the end: is that in-character for Beast? I always got the impression he felt being blue and furry was worth it for the ability to fight evil, though obviously there might be some sort of resentment. I just wonder if the feeling has come up before in canon.

The comic book store guy is a fan, and a customer who came in said the first issue was better than he'd thought it would be. So it seems to be pretty well received, which is nice for Joss.

Lots of them.

[link] does it for most of DCU.

You Marvel people are on your own, though. Only site for your stuff I went to was the old Spider-Woman site, and it's long gone.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It is in character for what I've read recently. Beast has had to battle the outside beast for a while (there was a point at which if he used his super strength it made him more animal-like and dumb, but he had to to save something). In Ultimate he was outright self-hating and hostile about it. I think it's been a bit more subtle in the main continuity.

Thanks Plei. I'll dig for a Marvel site also, but that will help a bunch.

I've hooked at least two more people on Astounishing, based on the quality of writing.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Just read AXM #2. Good stuff. #1 suffered very much from having to set things up, IMO. I enjoyed #2 a great deal more.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Stupid Raining-on-new-comics-day. What with the raining, I had to hang around the store until it let up a bit. And what with it being a really slow new titles day, I had to flip through a bunch of other stuff and pick up 6 out of the 9 issues of Batman: Death and the Maidens. Stupid Greg Rucka, being a fucking brilliant writer and making me buy stuff I didn't plan on.

In other news: Picked up Astounishing 2. I do love Joss's Kitty, but the whole thing still feels up and down to me -- maybe it's just the fact that I have, basically, no preexisting investment in the Marvelverse, but I was about ready to put it down for several pages before the Kitty/Emma smackdown. Even so, Kitty (as mentioned) and Beast (BIG BLUE BRAINY FURRY WOOBIE!) are killing me.

Others: looked through Robin 128(?) and Teen Titans 12 in the store. I still can't bring myself to buy the current Robin run. As for Titans, I was mostly *deeply* confused -- I feel like I know who the characters are, but I don't have the background in the post-YJ story to have half a clue about what's going on with the current arc and Raven and all that. So, still resistant to those crazy kids.
