I'd rec the Nightwing and BoP trades. (Old Friends, New Enemies, IIRC--that's a title mention, if you have to choose, go with the eponymous one.)
I think the only Nightwing trade I wouldn't rec, unless you are an insane person like me and MUST HAVE everything, would be Ties That Bind. It's expositariffic. All the stuff after that, however, has been spiffy keen nifty.
Really? It's unnecessary for continuity?

Just go for a summary blurb. You can avoid the mullet, the polka-dot shirt, and Alfred doing a fist pump "YES!" if you don't get Ties That Bind.
Hm, okay. Maybe I'll pick them up for the purposes of the Comix Exchange. The Nightwing one did look interesting.
I want to read Batman comics. Who will ride with me to the store? I don't like to drive by myself since the only music I can listen to is the radio.
K. Picked up Bats 626 today. We shall see how this goes.
Oh, and Victor? You're a grandsire again.

Plei, how did you like the Azzarrello stint? I read the first couple issues since I'm a 100 Bullets fan, but I got bored with it and stopped.
I, err, haven't bothered reading them yet.
Shocking, I know.
I thought you were a reader, not a collector. Shame on you.
I am.
By "haven't bothered reading" I mean "didn't feel like buying when I had so much other crack, and may at some point pick up if they're in trade or I am bored," but that takes too long to say.
626 is an interesting start. It's Winick, and I like him a lot usually, but an opening for an arc is hard for me to judge.
