Lapsed Lurker

Which invalidates my contention that he didn't use guns against people to do more than disable/disarm. Unless you want to wank that the Mutant wasn't killed, only wounded. Which I'm not sure I can.

We don't actually see him pull the trigger, do we? Maybe he just swings the gun into the mutant's face or something.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Oh, no...he so pulls the trigger. And then there's a "B-dam!" type sound effect of the gun and the mutant falling over with the blood on the wall...

...Yeah, I think my argument that Bats don't use a gun to kill in TDKR is hosed.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

The first Batman animated series is coming to DVD as a set, as is the Supes one -- no word on BB.

And, to tie it in to the other discussion, the Batman animated series did include an episode with a speculative sequence taken pretty much image for image and word for word from DKR. Made me very, very happy.

That. RAWKED!!

Even included the "Rubber bullets. Honest." line. I 'bout died, I was laughing so hard.

With, as I recall, Michael Ironside doing the voice of Bats for that segment.

I have a plan.

Yes, I remember that one. I about hit the roof when it came on.

Ooh! Batman: The Animated Series DVDs! Need more!

Damn, I love my fandom.

Dude, there was a plotline in the Robin series that involved a woman giving off psychoactive pheromones -- I think near the end of the Bruce Wayne: Murderer/Fugitive arc or just after.

Not to mention Poison Ivy and Kory's alien flower garden at Titan's Tower.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

For the record, I generally prefer the continuity of the Batman animated series, which rolls into Batman Beyond. Paul Dini knew what was best in the core myth and told some great stories with interesting risks.

My favorite was when in Batman Beyond, the 50+ y.o. Barbara Gordon (voiced by Stockard Channing) is now commissioner (and she wasn't paralyzed by The Joker, and didn't become Oracle), meets with Terry McGuiness (the new cyberpunk Batman Beyond) and casually alludes to the fact that she had a brief affair with Robin, and a long one with Batman.

Also, the Batman Beyond pilot and four episodes are already on DVD, and I know this because I bought it to send to amych.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

And didja send it?

Well?

Still waiting....

It's sitting at home next to the Wonder Woman action figure and the stack of Batman Animated videos you'll be borrowing from Emmett while he's not looking.

But I'm mailing that, and Nilly's package and some Tom Scola stuff all this weekend.
