No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Just re-read Batman: Year One

Compared to Dark Knight Strikes Again

Thought: "Drugs. The anti-quality storytelling."

hip deep in pie

Does anyone have some recs of comics that would be good for a 7 year old? My nephew is in the hospital recovering from having his tonsils taken out, and I thought that comics would be a good thing to send him. I don't think he's had any exposure to comics before, so I'd like to start him off. (and he never seems thrilled when I buy him books.)

Nothing too boobalicious, gory, and nothing with bugs, please.

Any of the comics based on the Animated Adventures of Superman or Batman would be good, I would think. Or the comics based on Batman: Beyond.

Yes. I even read "The Batman Adventures" every month right now, and I love it. Too bad it's about to get canned. *sigh*

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Ah, hell.

I forgot to remind the boy to pick up my effin' Nightwing #92. Crap.

Hmm.

Emergency shopping may be in order.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

There was a minor fight in my office today over whether Nightwing is anything more than a pale imitation of his mentor. The best comment in it went to the design technology lead, who sagely commented, "Let Nightwing be Nightwing."

I don't read it myself - but my comic shop guy rec'd Thundercats when I wanted to get my 9-year-old nephew some comics and he really loves the series.

Hey. New board.

Does anyone have some recs of comics that would be good for a 7 year old?

Bone. Definitely.

Also, Beanworld.

Disclaimer: I like indy comics. Neither of these have superheroes. Move along if you want superheroes.

Huh.

Your design tech lead is wise.

How do they all feel about Tim? Or, alternately, about the current sitch WRT Robin.

I am totally not up to speed on what the current sitch wrt Robin might be -- whitefont?

The major comics geek in the office is strongly anti-DCU, and I'm afraid to ask. I think the design tech lead was just trying to make peace, but he still spoke wise.
