How did your brain even learn human speech? I'm just so curious.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Oh, crap, indeed. But I still thought it was a fabulous article even on my very first time through it, before I did that big fat doubletake and scrolled back up to read the byline again.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Oh, crap, indeed. But I still thought it was a fabulous article even on my very first time through it, before I did that big fat doubletake and scrolled back up to read the byline again.

I didn't even notice the byline first time through and liked it.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

did anyone hear Joss on Fresh Air yesterday? I could barely hear it as the phone decided to ring several times and people wanting stuff done and such.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

He was on Talk of the Nation, not Fresh Air, and you can listen to it online here.

I went to High School with Kyle Baker. I think he was a year behind me.

"What's the rumpus?"

Hey comic talkin' dudes. Raise your hand if you just saw some of John Cassaday's pages for the first issue of Astonishing X-Men. Anyone? Just me, then? Too bad for you, I guess. Glad I'm me, who has seen them.

'Cause the pages are SO sweet. I'm in heaven. I guess WIZARD is gonna do a preview of a few pages to give you a taste... I'm so impressed with his pencils I might just NOT take a year between issues. Seriously. From the heart.

And Kitty. She definitely shared Buffy's shouldering the fate of the world and dealing with grown-up issues way young and proving herself and really grounding the book with a relatable kid in (as pointed out) a spiderman way. I'm definitely old school when it comes to Kitty. Which will undoubtedly piss some people off. I hated her suddenly seeming to be the same age as everyone else, all Dodson-voluptuous and kinda generic. So slight reboot in that I liked the girl who kind of turned her back on superheroing for a while and is getting back into it, a college age girl who's not anything like, say, Emma. And I adore the way John draws her.

Actually everyone looks wonderful -- John gets the humanity without losing the hero. Me smart to be so lucky.

Me tired. hope you like ASTONISHING. -j.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Moooom! joss is taunting again!

It all sounds really cool, and I for one prefer your vision of Kitty. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

How many times do I have to tell you! If you'd just ignore him, he'd leave you alone. t /Mom

When does the Astonishing X-men 1 come out? Or is it already out?

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

I'm so impressed with his pencils I might just NOT take a year between issues.

No problem if you take your time. John can use the free time to work on Planetary, the title you stole him off (not that I'm bitter or anything).

Nah, just joshing. (Joshing Joss? Is that that an alliterative crime against grammar?)

Megan, nope. It is part of the X-Men Reloaded event that comes out in a few months. May or June, I think

Edited to add....

It has a May release date

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Awww, look Joss pimps his comic with love.

Now if he'll only assure us that Alan and Ron will be on the Firefly movie we'll be able to glow right into the Wonderfalls premiere.
