"There are two sorts of people in the world: those who believe Joss Whedon is a genius and those who are wrong." - Connie Ogle, Miami Herald

It's coming out on the 17th.

Thanks for the info.

"Don't think of yourself as an organic pain collector racing towards oblivion." Dogbert to Dilbert

Help! I'm attending MegaCon this weekend (comic convention in Orlando), and I need someone to convice me that $60.00 for a Fiesta!Giles figure is too much.

In other news, I picked up a Dopplegangland Willow, and got Karl Moline to sign my copy of the Fray trade paperback. Too late to get a sketch from him, though.

The Spike figures I've seen look really bad.

Jeff - you can get one (but just the one) on ebay for $22.99 here. Do not let the bright lights and crowded tables of the con fool you.

Thanks for the info, tina, but that's 22.99 pounds, which comes out to approximately $41.92, plus shipping from the UK. Still, it gives me a good idea what price range I should be looking for.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

The thing is, Jeff, if he had done a sketch for you, it would've been months before you got it.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

The thing is, Jeff, if he had done a sketch for you, it would've been months before you got it.

Of course, if you wanted Joss to write a caption too you'd have to will it to your next of kin so they could pick it up when it was finally ready. The combination of Joss and Karl seems to create space-time anomolies.

Though the results once they arrive are absolutely phenominal. Very happy with my Fray comics.

I suspect if Joss and Karl ever teamed up with Robert Jordan (for whatever reason), you'd get part one right away, but part two would have to be read while under a giant electric blanket due to the heat death of the universe.

Okay, I apparently desperately need sleep.

To be fair to Karl, he has been keeping a pretty regular monthly schedule with CrossGen on Route 666. Of course, that might not be much longer (I expect CrossGen to be announcing the cancellation of that title fairly soon, despite what their promo people say).

Well, I wasn't implying that Joss or Karl were slackers, far from it, just that circumstances often lead to their comics being somewhat behind schedule and riffing off of what DX said.

The cliched statement of "he does more before breakfast than most people do in a day" applies to Joss. (Whereas for Tim you have to substitute in "kills more people".)

I think that Karl is relatively new to the business, so his speed has improved, and Joss, well, as the intro to the trade paperback collection said, he was working on 4 shows (Buffy, Angel, Firefly, and the Buffy aminmated series) at the time he agreed to write the book. His brain is definitely wired differently than the rest of the world.

With the new Astounding X-Men and the Firefly movie going on, I wonder if the Buffyverse comics will be put on hold after Tales of the Vampires finishes (only 2 more issues to go).

Oh, and the Fiesta!Giles figures sold out at the convention, but not to me. I was able to resist, and picked up a bunch of Hellboy trades at half off.

Speaking of the animated series, I wonder if Joss will try to resurrect it since there's not going to be anymore Buffyverse stuff on the air next season. Was it ever said what network it was being developed for originally?
