"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Man, that'd be incentive to become an instructor. 'Cuz then you could get paid for it too.

"While recuperating from the broken nose, Halle claimed she heard the instructor say 'Storm this, bitch' right before the roundhouse kick. The instructor denies any such comment."

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

See, I'm suddenly terrified at the notion of how you'd do in Krav if your motivation were kicked up a few notches. I'm not exactly sure how it would all end up, but I have a mental image of Jose Canseco crying for his Mommy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'll see if I can project Halle's face onto my next sparring partner and tell you how it goes, Matt.

Unrelatedly, but on topic, I remember from way back a link to a site that told you which comics were due out a given week. Anyone remember it?

Also -- anyone have a good comic book management app for the Palm?

This will probably give a good idea, as most comic companies use Diamond as their main distributor these days.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Thanks for the link.

For the record, Comic & Card Keeper sucks.

"Don't think of yourself as an organic pain collector racing towards oblivion." Dogbert to Dilbert

From the latest Lying In the Gutters rumor column, here's a little more detail/speculation on Joss taking over The New X-Men

The delay signing up Joss Whedon has had an impact on the scheduling of the line. Well, I understand there will be a 12 month gap between Grant Morrison leaving the book and John Cassaday and Joss Whedon coming on board. The artist for that interim period will be Salvador LaRocca and... well... I'm told Neil Gaiman for six months and Pete Milligan for another six.

Except, you see, Neil Gaiman denies he's agreed to anything like this, although he has heard this very same twist on the old rumour very recently. The problem is that we've both been hearing it from people who should be in a position to know. Wishful thinking on Marvel's part? A false leak intended to trap the unwary?

Gaiman tells me he'd be too busy anyway, and while he has another comic project planned for Marvel after "1602," it will be in the future. Like, quite a way away. A bit like Sydney in that respect.

However, whoever's on the book, it looks like X-Men fans may have a little longer to wait for Joss Whedon than they may have been expecting.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Is the next 1602 out tomorrow? And is that the last one or is it an 8 issue series?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

It's 8 issues, and yeah, I'm pretty sure it's out tomorrow.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

According to comiclist.com it's not out until next week, along with Tales of the Vampires #2.
