Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

WORD.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I don't think I've read those -- the art is manga-esque?

Nope, not in the way I think of manga (like Jill Thompson's style). Don't bother reading them -- the artwork seems ok until the artist decides suddenly to draw a character grotesque and the story is illogical, poorly conceived shit.

"Don't think of yourself as an organic pain collector racing towards oblivion." Dogbert to Dilbert

Is there a release date on the Firefly DVDs?

Amazon.com and others list the release date as 12/9/03 (same date that Buffy Season 5 comes out).

Just to let everyone know, the last Buffy monthly comic will hitting the stores tomorrow. Issue #63, the fourth part of "A Stake to the Heart" ends the regular monthly. You'd think Dark Horse would let the series end at a nice round number, like say 65 or 70, rather than 63.

Also, the collected edition of Fray should be in the stores, with a suggested retail price of $19.95 for the TPB.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

I agree with the New Mutants...

Cypher killers? I wouldn't have minded so much if they hadn't killed him over the friggin' Bird Man! That never showed up ever again!

I love Louise Simonson, she does good work, but she and New Mutants just didn't mesh well...

Oh, X-Statix is also another interesting X title, in a post modern sort of way...

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Thanks, Jeff!

So, I bought an Ultimate X-Men tpb (I'm sure they had X-Statix, but my comic book shop is expanding, and things were in disarray over the weekend), and like it quite a bit. I know most of y'all have bitched about their problems over the years, but are any of the Buffy titles worth reading? I have all the Frays and the Tales of the Slayers, both of which I'm so-so on.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

The most recent Angel mini-series was pretty good. I don't know if it'll be out as a TPB, though. It was only four issues.

The most recent Angel mini-series was pretty good.

I was about to recommend the same thing. Make sure you get the most recent four-shot, though - because the previous Angel series was kinda suck-y.

There are some Buffy mini-arcs and one-shots I've enjoyed. Jane's "Jonathon" single book. Jane's post-season three (three-shot?) about the Mayor haunting the scoobs before college started was pretty good. I can find the titles and numbers if you are interested.
