Spike: We got a history, him and me. Fred: What? Spike: It was a long time ago. He was a young Watcher, fresh out of the academy when we crossed paths. It was a, what-you-call battle of wills and blood was spilled. Vendettas were sworn. It was a whole-- Fred: My God you're so full of crap. Spike: Yeah. Okay.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You know how Joss is with the big snakes. It's A Thing.

Vaguely on topic: JZ picked up a really cool children's book that I've been reading to Emmett for the last seveal weeks, The Day I Swapped My Dad For Two Goldfish. Written by Neil Gaiman, illustrations by Dave McKean. It's keen.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I adore that book, especially the ending.

The BBC has also commissioned a British-based spin-off of the Buffy show, called The Watcher, which Buffy's creator, Joss Whedon, is writing.

Also known as Ripper. The BBC isn't saying much-- there've been rumours for a long while (TVtome gave September 2002 as a premiere date, then July 2003). In July, the BBC were saying don't hold your breath; and as far as I know, that's still the offical line.

Give it time. The BBC only just renewed Doctor Who. Speed is not their strong point.

But yeah, damn for the time being.

Who? moi??

They have renewed Dr Who, but have they settled on who Who will be?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Not yet, as far as I know.. The 'Who will it be?' speculation is rife. Personally, I'm arguing for James Masters, but that could be a little misplaced. Failing that, why not ASH?

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

Cindy Lou?

Cindy Lou who?

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Exactly, Gandalfe.
