Walking I get. But power walking? Why not just run for a shorter time?

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

What is everyone doing this weekend

Taxes.

And, yes, it will take all weekend. My hard drive crashed and I recovered all my Mary Kay business stuff back to the end of 2005 but I lost all my 2006 stuff, so I have to re-enter everything off of my hard copies. I'm glad that my MK stuff is just a hobby, so I don't have that much, but it will take a full day just to fix it all.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Er, maybe? I dunno. Of course, that could be part of my difficulty in finding them; I'm using the wrong terms or something.

Options are confusing!

I mean, of course I like having options, but I have multiple things in my closet I can't quite describe in words. And I know a lot of words!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

This weekend: Birthday dinner bash for the SO! Teaching Saturday morning. Then desperately trying to get the rest of the spring-orderliness done. It's not actually cleaning, more going through bins of stuff, getting rid of stuff. I'm still in floppy disc hell (thank goodness I don't have any old 5 & a quarter inch discs or data cassette tapes hanging around). Hope to finish that off. I'll probably wait on going through cds. My goal for this weekend is to get to the point where I need to work on the storage units.

Lots of getting materials ready for meeting with the builder, hopefully next week. And some regular work, probably, too.

Ooh, and Jessica, yay ceiling fans! Buy compact flourescent bulbs!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

House accessories. How fun!

I have a pair of fake fishnets, which I wear with joyous abandon. Or at least without thinking they make boys think sex thoughts. They're just hose with a criss cross pattern on them.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Buy compact flourescent bulbs!

I tried! The candelabra base ones are a bitch to find, though -- two hardware stores I went to only had the 3W ones (15W equivalent), which is way too dim. I'm going to try Lowe's this weekend, and then start looking online.

(We'd actually bought a ton of medium-base CFLs for these fixtures, not realizing that they took candelabra bulbs, because we are stupid and don't know how to read. So now we have all these extras which we'll probably never use because CFLs don't burn out like incandescents...maybe I can sell them on Craigslist.)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hee! Craigslist will probably find you somebody.

And yeah, those candelabra ones are hard to find. Here's some from Amazon, Buffista link, and I heard that IKEA has some, although I couldn't find them on their site.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just installed PostgreSQL on my PC and created a database. Then I started Apache on my Mac, and now I'm downloading PHP to it.

This is all very exciting. To think I mocked the friend who was going to spend the afternoon reading on VoIP.

Difference is, now I'm going to go finish watching Dirt. It's fun.
