Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

"Beefy" is an unpleasant word. I think I may feel about "beefy" the way George's mom in DLM and Lily in HIMYM feel about "moist." t shudder

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh yeah. I can see that you're coming out of the car geek corner any second now.
Could be!

Um, or not, maybe.

But shiny cars! Awesome suspension! Cornering! Straightway speeds! I ... I ... I am an unrepentant race slut.

Cars is shiny!

Kristin, replace "beefy" with "strong" or "husky".

ND, yes!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Hmmm, "beefy" would go along with "steers like a cow" really.

I woke up this morning (the first full day of my layoff) and immediately thought of various tasks at work that I had to do... then remembered it's not my responsibility any more. I will say this: my coworkers and ex-boss are so going to miss me. I left a fair amount of documentation behind, but really, when you don't know the answer is somewhere in an obscure file, it's not going to pop out at you where to look for it.

In the meantime, I'm going to look at the next month or so as Paid Vacation before buckling down to the job of seeking work, which from my previous experience consumes on average less than two hours a day because there are only so many postings and leads and interviews one can go on. Which leaves the rest of the time for reading, writing, exercising and so on.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Random: After last night's Daily Show, John Oliver and Larry Wilmore are now my OTP. They better do more of those segments because that was made of awsome.

"Husky" is a word with far stronger negative connotations than "beefy," IMHO.

Do take it easy, msbelle! You've got to take care of yourself first, or you won't be able to do a good job.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I am following a telenovela-like saga of a teenage con artist's company from Digg. Oh. My.

Like I needed a time-waster on the internets today.

Trust my rage

How is it that there are people in the world who *still* do not know that you don't hit "Reply All" when the original email went to 40+ people to make your own little point or vent your own personal frustration?
