Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I think a UK 10 is a US 8 -- in any case, I'd say she's only that size b/c of the boobs or height. I've been between 6 and 14 and that body fits into a 4-6 here.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

When I used to watch the BBC WNTW, I think I figured out that you need to subtract 4, so a size 10 UK is closer to a 6 US.

Now tagless for your comfort.

We just introduced the kids to Peeps. DH said, "Lets keep feeding 'em to the kids and see what happens."

A world of no.

Brings to mind the episode of Malcolm in the Middle where Francis tries a Cool Hand Luke with Peeps.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

It was from an ita link, wasn't it?

Nope. Atul Gawande describing a particularly unpleasant surgery.

ita, I love those twins as well. It's the photo of them--sooo cute! I wonder what they look now.

Apostrophe rules are notoriously contradictory. Depending on which source you consult, it could be Edwards', Edwards's, Edwardes's, or something else entirely.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am annoyed on principle that the NEW YORK Times is paying someone to write an article about problems with Chicago's "century-old, deteriorating" mass transit system. Not that NYC subway is so terrible, but there are actually current issues with it!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday Allyson!

Got back from FKO last night. Other than the trip to Toronto, it was wonderful. The guests of honor, a 16-person filk chorus, were amazing to listen to, and there was lots of good music going on.

Now getting there, that was a bit more of a challenge than I would have liked. It started with our flight out of National being delayed 3 hours. Add the half hour on the ground at Pierson waiting for a gate and various luggage and shuttle issues, and we didn't get to the hotel until 2 am Friday morning. Bleah...

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Happy Birthday, Allyson!

And wishes and vibes and such for all I've missed in the last week or so.

Chicago's CTA woes have been huge news lately.
