Natter Five-O: Book 'Em, Danno.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Finished Rome tonight with the friends (including a 16 year old who has been a HOOT to share this with) I've spent every Roman Sunday with since the beginning of the series. We are all hugely bummed that it is over...what will we do with our Sundays now? And just a teensy bit disappointed in the end.
All was well until
they went for a cutesy close.
Too bad they didn't quit with
Atia's thousand yard stare. That was poignant with a capital HATE.
The casting was so good...I'd love to see them all in something else...no wait, I've already seen most of them elsewhere...MORE!
This weekend also saw a friend introduce me to my new soopersekritcelebrity boyfriend. Mike Rowe of Discovery's Dirty Jobs has completely stolen my heart. I can't imagine the fan mail that one must get.
I'm glad you survived, ita, and sending passing~ma your way.
I did a bad thing today. I fell asleep watching a movie and ended up sleeping for 4 hours this afternoon. Now I can't sleep. At all. I have Stuff I need to do, so I can make use of this awake time, but tomorrow is going to suck.
Don't wanna go back to work tomorrow. Really, really don't wanna.
Sigh. Er, in other news, job hunt starting up. Semi-interview Tuesday (sort of pre-interview visit, just to prolong the anxiety). Does it ever get easier?
Sorry about the interview anxiety. I'm always selling myself for the next job and it gets a bit easier on the small stuff, but not on the big stuff. I was nervous as hell about the UCI interviews last month and now that I'm playing the waiting game about whether or not the job will be offered to me I keep driving myself crazy wondering if there is something I forgot to include, or something I should have said differently.
No more Rome is very sad-making. Also, Beej, GF and I thought the same thing about the ending. It should have been
Attia.
Seriously GC. That character was the most consistent spark. Other, seemingly more powerful characters came and went, but that one persevered. Sheesh that was some good casting. Though, I have to say I can't name a single character, except perhaps for young Octavian, who I would have replaced. Even down to Cleo's house mother...everyone gave nuanced and rich performances.
Oh, and I was so sad to see
Vorenus
go, but I guess one of the dynamic duo had to. I was hoping for Hope/Crosby-esque movies down the road but I guess the production was just too spendy...even for that.
Emily, is it a pre-interview with that school we talked about? I'm crossing fingers and toes if so, because I think it would be a perfect match for you.
ita, regardless of the outcome, way to go. I'm in awe of you for pursuing the black belt given all of the medical bullshit you've been dealing with. (That said, I totally think you passed. But I'm just saying, impressive either way.)
Could y'all be a little more liberal with whitefont in the Rome discussion (or move it to Premium) for those of us who haven't watched yet?
Sorry work is so stressful, Emily, and I hope the interview goes well for you.
Sorry, -t. No more Rome talk except to tell Beej how wrong this statement is:
except perhaps for young Octavian
I loved the actor who played young Octavian.
