I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

My mom is really young looking, too. She's 54 but could totally pass for 10-15 years younger. She's also really pretty. All my guy friends in high school were into my mom, which was gross but in retrospect, go Mom!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My sister's been losing weight as well, and the skinnier she gets, the more she resembles Mom! We've always known that she inherited a lot of Mom's features, while I got Dad's, but as her face thins down, it's really remarkable. I called her to tell her so after she sent me pictures of her in her newly-purchased wedding gown, and she thought that Mom had put me up to it. Apparently, when her best friend came out to visit a few weeks ago, the friend's parents came up from Phoenix for dinner and to see my sister for the first time in a few years, and the first thing the mother said when she saw Kris was "My God, you look just like your mom!!" Later in the conversation, she started blathering like Mom does occasionally, and I called her on it by telling her she's starting to sound like Mom, too. I swear, I could hear her sticking her tongue out at me.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

My cousin Sally was telling her 15-year-old daughter about my surgery. And her daughter asked about me having kids. Sally said, well, she was really too old to have kids be an issue. Julia said she didn't think so and Sally said, "Julia, Robin is 10 years older than I am." At which point Julia looked at her mom and said "Get out of town! She is not older than you!" I figure if teenagers think you are a decade younger than you actually are, you are doing okay.

Happy birthday, Kathy!

I'm 28, and yet I often will get everyone in the group carded. I don't get it.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I card anyone who looks even vaguely near 30 or younger. The fines are too much for me to risk it, you know?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KATHY!!!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I just went by a mirror and today I look my age.

Work - outside the office email was not working until 10 minutes ago. The key application I use has not been fully functional since about 4pm yesterday. And a website I need for some non-work stuff is either non-functioning or the worst UI ever.

paper and abacus people.

I don't mind getting carded, really. I just don't understand why I get the "you can't possibly be that old" stinkeye, because I don't think I look young enough to deserve it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Last year or so, I got carded buying cigarettes by a kid who was SHOCKED at my actual age. (~32 at the time) I mean, shocked and he couldn't get over it. It was the weirdest thing. The only thing I could come up with was the fact that I was in my student gear, but still.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I'm enjoying people's reactions when I tell them I'm turning 40.
