Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

MFNlaw, you north/east of me? (I'm NW B'more city.) We're having random spitting of ice, less sleet right now. Plus random wind.

West. Frederick city. My office is in downtown DC. I have no desire to deal with the idiots out there, especially while hacking up a lung. I brought my laptop home last night, and as long as I have that and my work cell, I'm good to go.

I suspect that (being in Chicago and not DC or wherever) I won't have an excuse not to go in tomorrow.

So damn true. I'm still amazed at how little it takes DC to shut completely down. The threat of a half-inch of snow sends people scrambling for the grocery stores. God forbid they miss an opportunity to stock up on toilet paper, bread and milk.

I choose nothing.

Yeah, well me too, if the ice is bad. You never know. Few years back, the director had spent years in Germany. Short of Upper NYS type snow, he barely thought we should have liberal leave and never closed work. Even during an ice storm where I saw two traffic lights crash into the road before me due to weight (that was a no liberal leave day.) And then a bunch of people had accidents on our fucked up Pole-Position-esque road to work while the city and the U. were arguing about who was supposed to plow it. The head of facilities was given the final say-so. New director is from...um...somewhere without snow, so I don't know.

Best policy was under a longtime local

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I cannot fully express how much I would like it to be a snow day tomorrow, but I just don't see it happeneing. I think west and north of us will get lots of snow and south of us will get ice, but we will get a little of both and not enough of either to cause real problems. SUCK.

Thrive to spite them

Brenda, I think they cut down on AI because House and Bones are big enough hits that they can't do 2 hour Hollywood shows in a row (and if they showed tonight's portion over two night's we'd be left until next week waiting to see who the 24 were). Or maybe the Hollywood portion gets lower ratings o they cut it.

Uhrg. I don't blame you. I've got only 6.5 miles, Pikesville to Homewood, basically, and I'm dreading it. We should meet one of these days...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think west and north of us will get lots of snow and south of us will get ice, but we will get a little of both and not enough of either to cause real problems. SUCK.

Yeah, enough for a pain in the ass, because not everyone takes care of their sidewalks, but that's it.
