Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I can take short walks outside, but they strongly discourage being a passenger in a car until two weeks after surgery, as abdominal incision+sudden stops=interior scarring. I took that as more of a guideline and am ready to ride around, but my DH is VERY worried and doesn't want to drive me anywhere but to my two-week follow-up check up. His feeling is that there is no reason to drive except boredom, and since there is an outside chance something bad could happen, let's be cautious.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Happy Birthday, tommyrot!

I'm caught up in Natter! Just in time to fall behind again in the enw work week. I've accomplished exactly nothing this weekend, making it different from all other weekends... not at all. Seriously, I need four days off at a time.

from mac reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, last line: with liberty and a just frog.

Bwah! mac cutie!

Yay ita job!

Yay Kathy fitness!

Yay Robin home without troublesome organ!

Yay Allyson for writerly awesomeness!

Yay pale people! of which I am one. If I buy foundation that matches my neck, it's too light for my face. I have to go one shade darker than my base skin tone or I look like I've been exsanguinated. I have to have a pink undertone in the foundation, too much yellow looks just wrong. I am pinker than I used to be, which I guess is sun damage or near-rosacea, but it could be worse. In related... something, I just uploaded to Flickr possibly the silliest picture ever taken of me. I was encouraged to vamp out...

I'm doing all right for 43. Hello, Salma! I don't have Salma's boobage but damn, honestly I don't want it. What I've got is too much.

Also, I want my hour back.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Dana, I've been on Zyrtec, Claritin, etc., and my allergist says that it's fine to take a Benedryl if you have a reaction like that. Apparently the two work in different ways (preventative vs. reactive? can't remember), so it might be worth trying.

I did take some earlier in the week, before this had progressed to "OH MY GOD" stage. Right now, I sort of want to leave it alone so the doctor can see what's really going on. Ice pack to the itchy areas is actually really soothing.

Because books.

This is such a good picture of you, Zenkitty! Sex-eeee.

Dana, ice packs are good. Don't keep them on too long, though.

Robin, I'm glad you're feeling well enough to go out, even if DH won't take you! He's kind of right, too. And yay for pain meds kicking in!

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Watched 28 Days last night. Freaky. But good. And well done with the eye candy (stealth candy, really, as the eye candy did not become apparent until about 30 minutes in).

Also, I was doing some Buff Diving and ran across this: "My name is Stephen Holtz! You killed my father; prepare to die." It saddens me, but all I can think of when I see that is, "Steve Holt!"

Anyway, I'm off back to grading.

Steve Holt!

What is even happening?

Dana, are the hives all over, or in one area? I'm just thinking about the recent leakage into your place, and wondering about mold and mildew. I know you said they applied fungicide to your carpets though, right?

Robin, I hope those meds have kicked in, by now.

Zen, you look great!

Anyone else having a problem with yahoo mail? It's totally dissing me.

Jesse, I don't use Yahoo mail, but I've noticed a couple of people on my friends list complaining about it, today.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Annoying!

And I was considering taking a nap (which I never do!), but my parents called, and now I think it's too late. Hmph.

hip deep in pie

My computer just scared the poo out of my by suddenly shutting off and then refusing to turn back on even though unplugged and plugged everything back in, reset the power bar. I was just about to open it up (Which meant clearing off my desk so there would be room to do so) when I decided to try it one more time. And it worked!
