Are the rest of your coworkers Cylons?

No, but I didn't want to accidentally count the mice. Cause they are always here.

Always Anti-fascist!

Honestly, I think my response would be quite similar to Mr. Goldman's, especially in the face of a perp who will not shut the fuck up and go away. You got away with it, you smarmy piece of shit, in what universe is that not enough for you?(Although I bet Mr. Goldman is too nice to say that, which probably makes it even more of a struggle.) You bet that would bring out my Inigo Montoya. I'd make him beg to be locked up, if at all possible. But I agree that I hope he is able to enjoy, and think of, other things, more often than not. But he will probably never be the same man again, in addition to the loss and grief.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Some people think the presidents on the first four coins look pretty terrible: [link]

That's some fugly money. I'm going to invest in Sacajawea coins for Emmett's future dental needs.

Toby and Michael?

Sorry, Daisy and AmyLiz. I was gone all day. You've probably figured it out by now, but just in case not, I'm pretty sure that "overheard" comment

JL: Why are you like this??
EW: Like what?
JL: Like..how you are.
Is an AngelaChase/Jordan Catalano exchange from My So-Called Life.

Jared Leto played Jordan Catalano, back when he was pretty: [link]

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is an AngelaChase/Jordan Catalano exchange from My So-Called Life.

It's also a Jordan Catalano/Angela Chase exchange. They say it twice, flipping roles the second time. I'm not sure which order they come in, though.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Congrats to the happy homeowners!

I think George Washington [link] looks angry, much like Willow's parents when she was getting ready for the (dream) play.

Really, after the last few years, can you blame him? I bet the Hoover and Coologe coins will have them grinning from ear to ear, though.

As would Nixon's, if not for fear that he'd rise from the grave for revenge on anyone depicting him in an unfrowny state.

brillig

They've got the name of the guy who shot up Trolley Square last night, and he's described as "trench-coated Sulejmen Talovic". I know it's horrible, but I wish his name had been something like Tom Smith or something. And that he'd been wearing a local college letterman jacket. Now I have to listen to people make assumptions.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I want the dollar coins to take so badly. I really like them. I just don't understand the public's resistence.

Re: The Goldmans: I think they're just trying to make sure he doesn't make any money off the death of their son--which sounds like a sad mission, at best. But there are parents out there who have to go back year after year to make sure their child's killer doesn't get paroled from prison, too. It may be the case of that's the only thing they can do to respect the memory of their child. It sounds emotionally exhausting, no matter what.

Person's house catches on fire. Insurance company says that the last payment was applied to someone else's account so person has not made their insurance payment. WTF!?!

Oh, a lawyer should be able to help. If a person has proof that they made a reasonable effort to pay their premiums they should be legally covered for insurance purposes. It sucks that they have to fight it, but it's a winnable battle.

Of course, my niece made her car insurance payments on time and when she got into an accident, found out her car insurance company was filing for bancruptcy. Since she was at fault in the accident, she was legally liable for the entire amount of the accident--$14K. She had to file bancruptcy as a result. They sought relief from a fund each state sets up to cover situations like that but their are never enough funds to cover all the situations. Part of your insurance premium payments goes into state funds.

It's been a steady, freezing rain from 1:00 p.m. today. It's just cruddy.
