"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Now I wish I'd taken the whole day.

Got an email from cousin K, Subject: Mimi's fine....

Which is her way of saying "Something happened but you don't need to panic." They moved Mimi to a nursing home where her brother is in Zowolle. They sent her up to the hospital in Shreveport because she had fluid build up. The doctors are saying she'll be fine, but I've kinda been waiting for something to happen to her.

Don't need brackets or anything. Just wish I could stay in bed with tv on the laptop.

In good news: It's my cutiehead cherub, Beau's birthday today! Cutiehead Cherub

What is even happening?

Beau really is a cutiehead, Daisy. Happy birthday, Beau!!!

I'm sorry to read the news about Mimi.

JZ's got a sore throat, so I think she's going to stay home with the baby today. Clearly a trend.

Oh, poor JZ.

My lower back is in rough shape, this morning. I knew it was going to be trouble last night, but I didn't know it would be this much trouble. I've applied 4 Advil, and am patiently waiting.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Oy, Cindy on the lower back. Do you have a heating pad or anything?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I was reading takeout reviews (once again, not doing a lot of work) today and apparently there is a Jamaican place in Waverly (near work) that is really good. My thought was hey, I can finally figure out what the hell ita and Jesse are talking about with patties and coco bread and...

Oh, that reminds me -- my new neighborhood is heavily West Indian (I don't know what specific island, if any), and I need recs on what I should be keeping an eye out for, grocerywise. What Jamacian delicacies have I been missing out on all these years?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

What Jamacian delicacies have I been missing out on all these years?

Jerked goat!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good luck to Mimi, Daisy. I've been getting a lot of that with my grandmother, lately. "So, they didn't admit her, but..."

That Beau is awfully cute!

Sometimes I'm wrong. Sometimes this is a good thing. Today, it is a good thing. t /work

Now if I can just keep everyone from doing "reply all" things will be peachy.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Thank you (not that I can claim credit for him). I think he's practicing to be a buffista boy with the tiara.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Jerked goat!

Is jerked goat also curried? Or is jerked goat and curried goat two subsets of goat that also happen to have an intersection?

I love Ethiopian. Maybe the next Chicagoista gathering should be a Quest for Injera.
