It's like, in the middle of all this, I'm paranoid that you'll think I don't like poetry.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I don't know about delivery, but I can get carry-out. [link]

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

lori, 'Jigglepuff' just doesn't seem like a serious-enough name for a racing dog in the Iditarod....

Jigglepuff who is wearing a PINK coat!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I bet Jigglepuff likes glitter.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I don't know about delivery, but I can get carry-out.

Ooh but it's worth it for you Chicago-istas to venture to Evanston for food at Addis Abeba. Best. Ethiopian. Food. Ever.

And I don't mind travelling all the way to Fairfax and Pico for my fix. Especially since I can sit at a traditional woven basket/table (Messob) at Messob. It has been way too long.

Art Crawl!!!

I love Stanley & Mimi. I was worried that, having gotten rid of Heather, they were now going to do away with Stanley and/or Mimi.

The last time I was at Asmara with old friends who are SCA veterans (and Debra has a doctorate in Anglo-Saxon linguistics) who were very appreciative of the authentic honey wine offered on the drinks menu, too. And for me, it's really easy to avoid the beef/beef products in the dishes and just concentrate on the chicken, the lamb and the extremely yummy chickpea and lentil vegetarian entrees. Until I ate there, I'd never run into lentil-yummy- anything.

I was reading takeout reviews (once again, not doing a lot of work) today and apparently there is a Jamaican place in Waverly (near work) that is really good. My thought was hey, I can finally figure out what the hell ita and Jesse are talking about with patties and coco bread and...

Also, in my saga of not doing work, I had a higher rank coworker TOTALLY cover my ass (and gilded it) in the process of covering hers. I was working on a portion of a doc she's in charge of. My part is basically done, needs peer review, but the first draft has been done for a few weeks. I just hadn't sent it off (because...well, my first drafts are actually 101st drafts cause I never stop tweaking.) Anyway, boss asked her about her progress and then the status of my part. And she totally sold me as wonderful and excellent and I'd been very thorough and... Which she said having not seen the doc nor checked with me on the status. She told me "well, you always do everything so thoroughly, I figured I wasn't wrong." Which was nice to hear. But also? Really funny. I'm a class A procrastinator.
