In a way I kinda feel sorry for Libby. I feel like he was set up as the fall guy for something really instigated by others.
Maybe, but they didn't prove that part of their case. Plus, he still lied even if it was just to cover up someone else's lies. You can't be a dick, and then point at other people and say, "Over there! Bigger dicks!" 'cause in the end, you're still a dick.
ETA: what bon said.
I've already seen speculation that the Cheney leg-clot news is a run-up to his having to resign for "health" reasons, but I'm relatively sure it's just coincidence -- the man has enough legitimate health problems (evil has its costs) that some of them are bound to be occasionally in sync with exterior events.
I do find it suspicious that he's been off on an extended diplomatic trip all through the jury deliberations, though... at least he's not sitting at home in the VP mansion and worrying about his friend Scooter.
I'm not sure about that. He didn't have to lie to the grand jury, which is basically what this trial was about.
Yeah, good point. Damn that liberal bleeding heart of mine.
Yeah, usually I have sympathy for rich white guys on trial, but this seemed like a pretty clear-cut case.
ION, my parents have just informed me that they are driving to Magic Mountain this weekend. I think they have more fun than I do.

Not unless you're like a low-level drug dealer, and you have information about a murder or something.
t /too much tv
I just can't get over a fairly high level person named Scooter.
Libby is guilty of 4 of the 5 counts, including purjury and obstruction.
Once again it proves the old adage that it's not the crime but the coverup that screws you in the end.

I keep expecting him to have friends named Gonzo and Fozzie.
Surgery~ma, Robin! I'll be thinking about you.
Sean, I'm glad S is coming home. Continued vibing for you both.
I've always found it interesting that Cheney was never put forward as a potential presidential candidate. I thought Veeps always tried for the big chair.
Muppets would never commit perjury.
