I don't know what's the norm up there in Canadia, Sue, but I pay for my own gas and electric, but not heat and hot water.
The norm in Halifax is that in apartment buildings, heat and h/w are included, but in flats, which this is, generally you pay for all utilities.
But the thing is, natural gas is really rare here, and A/C is not really a imp. feature. So the only real utilities are heat, electricity, and hot water. So if I was going to advertise for a place where heat and hot water are included, why would I say rent + utilities. I'd just advertise rent + electricity.
My cat just made me double post.
I'll cut the guy some slack. Maybe he's from away. I'm just tired of dealing with people and their annoying questions.
Fear the Bon!
ok I laugh whenever I hear the bonbon song now. I'm not sure who does it, but I picture bon rocking out to it and...sorry for the laughter?
oh, not crying vocally, but his eyes were watering.
Still interesting! Kids are so fascinating in what they notice. I always tease my brother about his "science experiment" aka D. Mainly cause he was the first to cast it as such, as D was born right after J had taken dev. psych. But really, in dealing with kids, it is freaking amazing the leaps and whatnot they make and ties they create.
oh not stressing at all, it is my fun activity for tonight. I fear it is only PC workable though and lo, I am mac.
OK, the person's dopey.

Have I mentioned we're in the middle of a blizzard?
But the thing is, natural gas is really rare here,
That's interesting. For a lot of post-war places here, it's standard. But then I see the oil trucks and realize it isn't really the norm. Oil heat freaks me out cause I've only known gas, so the whole thing is so foreign. What can I say, I grew up in a part of the US where gas was nearby and the construction was largely recent. Even the old places were converted to gas.
When I moved in to this apt, gas and water(incl. hot water) were gratis, electric was the renter's problem. Then gas rates went up and they installed individual gas lines. I get it, economically, but it is annoying. Especially since my winter (gas heat) bills went from $10 to $150 (last month, being the coldest.)
