He is too hot for her.

He's too old for her! She's plenty hot.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oof. I can't bring myself to hope you don't get a job offer from them, ita, even so.

I think I just read in EW that Lindelof and Abrams wanted Lost to only go 5 seasons, or some sort of limit, anyway. I guess 2010 would be a limit, but later than I thought.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I can't bring myself to hope you don't get a job offer from them, ita, even so.

I want the offer but I don't think I could handle that commute and stay sane. It's all on a very high traffic freeway too. Fuck! Why didn't I do this checking before? The recruiter told me that it wasn't far, and I believed her. Now is entirely too late to back out.

The status is NOT quo.

ita, you may find it isn't as bad as you think...? I've gotten used to my 30 mile one-way commute, but I have to admit that the HOV stickers make it a lot more tenable than it would be anyway.

t /hopeless optimism

There's a great TAL piece about that, about the cast and crew of Riverdance. Check it out!

Jesse, I heard that one! Oh my, too funny.

Art Crawl!!!

Kathy, would you be able to keep some decent proteiny snacks at your desk? Almonds, for example?

I can't read about MT dating somebody 14 years older than she is.

And a friend emailed me this story:

"Babylon" calls to Tamblyn

By Nellie Andreeva
Fri Mar 2, 3:02 AM ET

Amber Tamblyn is set to star in the CBS pilot "Babylon Fields," an apocalyptic comedic drama about the undead trying to resume their former lives.

Tamblyn will play a young woman who, after being abused by her father, teamed with her mom to kill him only to see him come back. Tamblyn rose to fame in CBS' short-lived spiritual drama "Joan of Arcadia," and also starred in the feature "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants."

Kathy, would you be able to keep some decent proteiny snacks at your desk? Almonds, for example?

Yes. Hmmm, I think the cafeteria has some packages of nuts and trail mix available (at least, they did last week)--I'll have to go down and check it out!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

you may find it isn't as bad as you think...? I've gotten used to my 30 mile one-way commute

My last commute was 35 miles one way, so I'm familiar with the amount of time on the road. I don't have a Prius, and from my other experiences doing work in Orange County, the commute is way more traffic-heavy than going to Simi.

There's a job opportunity that's five minutes (parking time included) away from me, and even taking into account lower pay (same pay I made in 2002, not 2006) and social entanglements, I really want it. In fact, the idea that I might not be up for a position at the Westwood location, but instead in Santa Monica made me even a little sad.

I don't want to drive. I'm a hysterical shell of a person, and whatever I can drop from my menu, the better.

Speaking of which, I just got a call about the wisdom of me taking the black belt test. I'm responding irrationally to it, because it was at least half motivated by concern for my mysterious ailment, but the other half was "Well, can you pass?" which is the sort of thing that drives me insane, and I'm going to have to get myself talked down from this particular ledge.

They are letting me take it (read: sending out an invite), but still. I'm only marginally the brokennest in the room. I know they didn't call the other two. Which makes me feel like a whiner for them to know more about my pain than others.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

My commute often takes an hour one way, but I'm either walking and listening to my iPod, or reading on public transportation for most of it, so it's pleasant personal time rather than detracting Fun Time away from the job.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I have to start driving to Simi at the end of the month.

NOT looking forward to it.
