Timelies all!
Ugh. I accidentally bumped my hand against the side of the oven while putting the chicken in, and now I have a red mark by my knuckle. Also, Gold Bond cream is really not good for burns.(Luckily it came off when I stuck my hand under the cold water)
I've been reading through some of my cookbooks, weeding out the ones I'm never likely to use (why did I have six cookie cookbooks?!?) for the company's charity booksale later this spring. The Weight Watchers one is really excellent, with some good recipes, even what looks to be a really easy one for naan (yummmm).
I have Indian food on the brain this week.
Sheryl, be careful when you cook!! I remember the time I leaned my knuckles against the iron while I was getting ready for work--had matching burns across all four fingers.
That's what I'm kicking myself over now.
Unless you're literally moving your leg, that does no good. No more kicking. You're having great success, Kathy.
I've found middle-of-the-road just doesn't work for me in dieting. It's too easy to slip up, or forget, or think "well, it won't hurt to eat a big bowl of pasta just this once." Making the decision to strictly follow something extreme is do-able, it allows me to concentrate on what I should be doing and work toward a specific goal. Almost three years of trying to eat healthy and control portions never made a dent in my weight after the sudden inflation of 2004, but I've kept up a loss rate of about 4-5 lbs. per week since the last week of January and I don't feel like the restrictions are all that hard to live within as long as the period of privation has a definite scheduled end.
I'm the opposite, when actually dieting to reduce. If I feel deprived, I fall off the wagon and never get back on.
Gives Allyson a bitch to choke
OK, I'm outta here. Lee was soooo sweet and gave me an interview to write up tonight, so I can get the application all done just under the wire tonight (doing Kermit waves and throwing smoochies Lee's way!!) after I pick up my food and go for a swim--I'm all invigorated now that I've got that off my list of "things to do otherwise I'm a big loser", so I have the pep to do 20 laps tonight (I did 16 on Tuesday).

You rock! Don't forget to use your good Australian crawl technique.
Tangerines are the best snack food! They're like little pockets of juice, really neatly packaged. However they do get too sweet after a while.
I need to find a similar vegetable snack. Having tangerines/clementines/mandarins in the house has bumped my fruit consumption way up, and since I stopped drinking fruit juice, I needed a boost.
My vegetable consumption still sucks, though.
Go, Kathy!
I have to confess, I'm having ice cream for dinner. But the ice cream place is farther from my house than my usual stop, so extra exercise! (I realize it's not actually enough.)
