Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Congrats, Kathy!
I haven't had any strawberries for a while. I think they'll come into season around here in a couple of months, and then I'll gorge myself on them. Mmmmmm.
Jesse, have you followed some of the discussion here and elsewhere about that bread? You'll want to add more salt than the recipe calls for.
Hil, it was before sunset, so I have no idea. Well, except there are wide variations in adherence. (There were also some guys buying gargantuan boxes of matzo ahead of me.) I do live on the edge of B'more main jewish neighborhood and there are a lot of retirement and assisted living places within, so the whole slightly-off old jewish lady wasn't something that new.
The groceries around here have huge kosher sections. I was reading the other day that there is an excellent (and kosher) butcher shop just around the corner from me. Of course, I don't know the difference in cuts outside a chicken, so I'd not know how to take advantage of that.
How long do onions keep? I'm hoping that my company offers a deal on 10 pounds of Vidalia onions this spring, like they did last year (the money raised went to charity). That onion soup I ate today was too yummy not to try and make here at home!

Yeah, I added some more, but not a ton more. We'll see. Honestly, I'm so excited about the cheapness of the ingredients (compared to buying a loaf of bread) that even if it's not so good, it's not a huge deal to me.
Onions last for a long time, Kathy. And you can always make a couple of big batches of soup (which takes tons of them) and freeze it in portions.
If anyone who has the ability to burn to DVD is planning on catching the Oscars, I would REALLY appreciate a copy. Am happy to pay postage and for the DVDs.

msbelle! You still out superfamilying?
yes, we just got back to my parents' after 2 days at the great grandmother's where there were a total of 7 under 10 years old.
We are both tired, but I am not crying over nothing because of it, unlike mac.
