Of course, right now he's having to forgo it as he's in a study where they provide all the food for something ridiculous like 3 months and pay him $450. My brother, the guinea pig. Tthat isn't a weird diet or anything, at least.

When I lived in Seattle I was in a study where I had to eat salmon at every meal. I was working 12 hour days in the same hospital where they did the study, so it was very convenient to go downstairs and get free food three times a day, not to mention the carryout for my days off. In the end it did get very tiresome, and it took several years before I was able to eat salmon again.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

You could alternate that with checking your email.

I am checking my e-mail, b.org, livejournal, and staring forlornly at my work inboxes waiting for something to do.

But I just realized that I could go take a quick walk outside because it's no longer -20 out there!

Now tagless for your comfort.

At my old job, the company did provide coffee & tea. Part of my duties included finding catering for office meetings. Any meeting over an hour got to have some sort of snack/lunch. I had permission to order for me and the other office admin, so that was sort of a perk.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

You could write porn!

My brother's a grad student in cancer research, so he scores most food from lectures and presentations and whatnot. Though his boss'll drop by with meals brought direct to her office too (she "owns" several labs and scary amounts of grant money, so pharmaheavily courts her. ) She's crazy, but she shares.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I thought it was just salad.

It may be. I don't have any actual knowledge. I just have an internet connection and episodes of QI.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is she completely hetrosexual now?

Different rehab. She's now no longer homophobic.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We provide a water cooler, coffee, microwave popcorn (our office) or fruit (Minneapolis office). Also a pizza meal for everyone once per quarter.

We provide [...] microwave popcorn

That'd make me feel like the biggest party pooper ever. Still haven't found a brand of microwave popcorn whose smell isn't a migraine trigger.
