I've already eaten two paczkis--plum and rosehip. The rosehip kicked the plum's ass in taste, and I'm really tempted to eat the other one I bought.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hmm. I'd rather be a Grand Conspirator than a Pope, in generalities, but I'm not too sure about the Imperial bit. Whose empire, exactly? Yours? Or is this the bit I can't know, in case I accidentally reveal it to the recurring hero during a bout of passion before he discovers the secret swag?

An old friend/co-worker of mine just popped in to visit (had a conference nearby), and reminded me of the fact that I have to get my application in to the MLS program by March 1st. He's my interview essay contact (he's the head of the county law library), so I arranged to get together with him and his family this weekend to get this essay done. Now I just have to e-mail my former bosses back with the recommendation form links so they can fill them out, and then get my personal essay written (eek!!). Only a week before March 1st--where did the month go?!?

No paczkis here, but I have achieved maximum crepeitude--with raspberry jam, pink grapefruit marmelade, and honey fillings. Hopefully they won't be too sad looking by the time I get to the French coffee hour.

Now that a few people have had a heart attack and are madly loading google news, I should note we=my work, war= blocking access. Because of server abuse. A country is as narrowed down as we can get until someone freaking responds.

I finally woke up enough to realize exactly how bored I am.

That's not buddies.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Which one?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My little coworker just got her first Nigerian scam email. She was all flummoxed and brought it over to me. Aw, cute!

I wish I had a paczki or a crepe or a king cake or anything else delicious. I did have a delicious pecan praline cookie situation this morning, but that was hours ago.
