Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hmm. I don't find the "Go hug Auntie Mary" thing even slightly weird or uncomfortable. Not in the exhortation, nor in the "Auntie" since that was the simplest way to keep us from having to call people by their surnames.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I had forgotten TAR even started tonight, so I'm glad it ran late for you guys, so that I can now record it.

Lee, if you don't break in your mattress properly by taking a nap, it'll never really work right. And you don't want that, do you?

I really wouldn't. Luckily, that is no longer a problem since my reading in bed plan worked exactly didn't go the way I thought it would.

Also, I don't have to work tomorrow. YAY.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I feel so much better knowing you have properly napped today, Lee. I would have been disappointed in you, otherwise.

My horoscope today:

The level of romance in your life is about to go up, up, up! The sky's the limit when it comes to the amount of chemistry between you and a very special someone.

Hmmmm... I wonder who the special someone is?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good job, Lee -- nap strong!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've been napping most of the day, and barely feel like I wasted it. I woke up and went and taught two hours, mostly assistant-free (I hate that--it really cuts into my comedy options), even participating in the warmup and running by myself to get the flow of blood to my head up to useful levels. That and a 12oz Red Bull.

Barely worked. I mean, I felt like last night's drugs (went to the ER) had worn off, since I was clueful and stuff, but even after all that I came home and fell right into bed without even finishing my protein smoothie.

Nappity nap nap. Now to try and go finish watching Psych.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

With a big extended family it's not so weird (though still, ordering a shy or non-huggy kid to hug isn't made of awesome), but I found it uncomfortable to (1) go someplace for a Buffy-viewing evening at which there was a rotating group of 10-25 people, some of whom the kid had never seen before; (2) watch the kid be scolded and punished in front of a roomful of near-strangers all evening for infractions ranging from not cleaning his plate to peeing in his diaper instead of using the toilet to not being silent during Buffy (he was 2 1/2 at the time); and then (3) see him forced to perform like a trained seal of baby love and hug all those semi-strangers goodbye and call them Auntie and Uncle Whoever.

Some parents treat everyone like family (and God knows some kids are longing for the hugging but just too shy to do it without a nudge), but some parents treat their kids like accessories. They want a good smacking.

Ugh for having to go to the ER, ita.

Oh, and Kathy, I agree with you about Uchenna and Joyce.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I don't think that they were that interesting of a team, either--if they're looking for a minority team that won, they should have gone with Chip and Kim instead of the relative nonentities that are Uchenna and Joyce.

Yeah, it's not like when Big Brother brought back Evil Doctor Will!!

I am so glad I did then.
