Tara: What's so bad about them coming here? Aren't they good guys? I mean, Watchers, that's just like whole other Gileses, right? Buffy: Yes! They're scary and horrible!

Punishingly Intricate

We've really lucked out with the temperatures and etc -- basically every sidewalk is clear at this point, even the ones that were only half-assedly shoveled.

Not all the sidewalks are clear here but the ones that weren't shoveled are covered in hard snow/ice that is kind of crunched up on the top mostly so it's not too hard to walk on.

However, I did get stuck across my alley trying to get into my parking pad yesterday afternoon. My wheels could find no purchase on the ice (although I did clean off my car I'd failed to shovel the parking pad when that was still possible on Wednesday). Luckily, a man from the construction place behind my house came by with a shovel and chipped out some ruts for my wheels. Hooray for good samaritans!!

Congratulations bon and bob!!!

I am back from the dentist with a temporary crown and one half of a very frozen mouth. I am trying to eating a biscuit, but I'm worried about biting my own lip.

My dentist rocks, btw. It was the crown that broke, and not further decay, so he said this is cover by his "bumper to bumper" warranty.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's great, Sue.

I'm starting to get my usual parents-visiting anxiety. It's so stupid, because when I go there, we just sit around the house, but when they come here, I want to plan just the right things to do! Ah well. I think we're good -- we have a couple of Events planned, and I have a couple of restaurant ideas, and if it all goes to shit, we can hang out in the mall.

The motherfucking sons of lice ridden bitches who call themselves physical facilities management have STILL not cleared off my side of the parking lot. So, while trying to turn around so that I could park illegally along the railing, my front tire got stuck in a rut of ice. It took about 30 minutes in freezing wind to free the damn thing. I might still be there if two people hadn't come along to help me out. Of course, they had to help me, because my car was blocking the way out!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

So, I'm at work. As requested yesterday, I came in almost 2 hours early to help handle the work load, since so many NY people were out.

So far, not much work, and now I'm reading fanfic. I am sooo leaving early today.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That is not the most fun way to start the day, Vortex. But it was almost worth it just to hear you unleash your invective.

It is sunny, crisp and mild in SF today.

I'm going to try to leave work at 4:30 and hop on BART and redezvous with JZ, Matilda and Emmett out in Orinda. That way, JZ and Matilda can pick Emmett up immediately after school at 3:00, and be through the dreaded Caldecott tunnel before the get-away weekenders pack that sucker tight. We're attempting to o'erleap the bottleneck, and get out to Sacramento with a minimum of driving stress.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Congrats, bonbob!!

My car's front left tire has a bunch of snow/slush/ice frozen behind the tire, but I can't kick it free no matter how hard I try. I'm hoping that the (relatively) warmer temps today will thaw it out enough for me to kick it out (it's so big it rubs against the tire when I turn and freaks me out with the grinding noise).

It was 3 below zero at 8:30 this morning. That's insane.
