That's the thrill of living in the Hellmouth! There's a veritable cornucopia of fiends and devils and ghouls to engage ... Pardon me for finding the glass half-full.

"Like that, only with snow and cows."

Yeah, mine wasn't quite like that. Sports weren't nearly as huge, for one thing--adults didn't care anywhere near that much about high school sports. (Although the football players were stars, yeah.) Nor did we have any conveniently-located strip clubs, either. But the dynamics of the characters, and the dialogue?

Last night, when Julie was fighting with her parents, I could totally hear my niece saying that sort of thing. Just perfect.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

YOU CAN'T TELL ME IT'S NOT REAL I KNOW IT'S REAL.

Ahem.

I loved Coach & Mrs. Coach making their perp wait. They would so do that. And I have been in that car when it went somewhere I knew I shouldn't, but I didn't have the social authority to make it stop. The decision to play must have been such a tough one, but I'm glad they stood their ground anyway. "We're here, but this doesn't change anything." And he is a leader, whether he knows it or not. And how proud am I of Riggins for getting in there and defending Smash? 'Cause they might have their differences, but there's a line, and you just crossed it buddy, and you're going to pay for it. Then color me surprised at Mac blocking the cops? "They made a mistake son, just like I did." Dawww.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hey Jesse? Was there a reunion thingy last night or was it last week? What happened with Nate and Jenny Lee? I was babysitting last night and didn't get to watch the finale so I'll have to catch it Sunday.

Next week there's going to be a clip show/follow up thingy, so I don't know what happened with those two crazy kids in the long run. The finale is AWESOME, so definitely catch it on Sunday.

I was flabbergasted that the cops stopped the bus. Does that shit happen? I mean, so many layers of wrong, there. The COPS were trying to punish a sports team for winning a game? They were filing criminal charges for stuff that happened on the field? They were going after Smash so blatantly, and stopping the bus to do it? WTF?

I mean, go Mac and Coach, but I was just astonished that it actually came to that. I know sports are important in many small towns, but really!

Yes, Great Pyrenees. The sweet black eyes and noses in the white faces!

There's an official breed called Anatolian Sheep Dogs, but I've only seen Turkish sheep dogs actually in Turkey. There are some nice pictures here, especially Kangal dogs: [link]

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That was happening around my HS experience, but I was so peripheral to that whole scene none of the characters would have known me. Well, probably Landry. But nobody else.

My HS experience was mostly sitting around making fun of the characters on this show.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I know, I'm being a baby, but I am really worried about slipping and falling on the sidewalks.

Not being a baby at all. I already lost it once this year, despite the lack of snow (this was after the freeze following a day of rain we got a couple of weeks back), and I was hurting the next day. And the sidewalks are craptastic today, as I expected they would be.
