Hey, don't worry about it. Nest full of vampires, you come get me, okay. Box full of puppies, that's more of a judgement call.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

New York-istas -- I read this in our own Herself's LJ:

If your food spoiled because of the blackout, Con Edison will reimburse you up to $150 without documentation and up to $350 WITH documentation. Mail in the claim form by September 13 (30 days after the blackout began). The form is available in PDF format at:

hip deep in pie

According to this article in the NY Daily News, Con Edison won't reimburse for spoiled food in this case because the blackout wasn't their fault.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Voting for the House Keeping Proposal is now open.

Eleven ballot questions?! WTF!?!

The last Buffy episode has been aired in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, etc., and some of our threads have become redundant. It's housecleaning time! To the extent possible, it's best to get this all out of the way now, before the US fall TV season begins.

In addition, we recently learned that our current usage is overloading our server. We are working on coding changes to improve this, so there's no need to panic and implement draconian cuts, but removing redundancies on our board will help the situation because more open threads usually leads to more posts, more pages loaded and more database usage. Think of our current situation as thread sprawl. Consolidating threads will be a bit like carpooling, allowing our system to operate more effectively.

The Ballot Is Here. It includes pros and cons for each question. Voting closes Tuesday night (August 26, 2003) at midnight (that would be "Board Time", i.e. PDT)

Our wings are not tired

Okay, I'm late with these, but here are the pictures from my quick trip down to San Diego and dinner with Cass and EpicTangent. Only 4 pictures, but now you can put faces to more Buffistas.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

LAistas, the lovely Deb just sent me a box full of baked goods, so I'm hoping people will join me on Thursday, the 28th, at 8:00 pm. to partake of them. If you are interested, and need directions, please email me at my profile address.

Our wings are not tired

I'm coming out to NY and surrouding environs and hopefully can meet plenty of Buffistas. In planning for that here's how things look.

Arrive in NYC evening on Sept 18th. Train to New Haven on Sept 19th (Morning) In New Haven 20th and 21st lecturing at Yale, but hopefully some time free in evenings. Train back to NYC on Monday the 22nd. Rent car and drive to Wellsville on Thursday the 25th. In Wellsville for wedding 26th and 27th. Drive back to NYC on Sunday the 28th. Fly back to Los Angeles on Oct. 2

So, I'm not sure who I'm actually near while I'm out there, and who has time, but I'd love to see people and am totally willing to make side trips. With the exception of the wedding and the lecturing at Yale the time is for me to do with as I please. Um, feel free to discuss in e-mail or in the F2F thread.
