Hi all,

I've written an article on renewable energy. It argues (with support ) two points;

1) That the most carbon intensive society on earth (The U.S.) could switch to renewables , use no more than it's fair share of carbon (allowing for full poulation growth, at a price lower than it pays now.

2) That what prevents this is due not just lack of full social pricing or even only actions by wicked corporation, nor laziness on the part of ordinary people, but institutional and structural problems built into our economic system.

Both of these take some effort to prove; so it is about 20,000 words not counting references. I'm planning to submit it for publication; additional beta readers are appreciated. My profile addy is good. It is in Microsoft Word format, but I can convert it to just about anything. If you'd like to beta it, let me know - and tell me your preferred format.

Thanks

Gar

In Firefly news, AICN already reported this but Tim has now confirmed that Fox will be releasing all the filmed episodes on DVD in 16/9 format. No word yet on release date.

Nobody

I get the Consumer Safety Alert news letters. I don't usually post them here, but this seemed like it might be something some Buffistas needed to know about, especially vegetarian and vegan Buffistas:

SafetyAlerts.com

White Wave Has Recalled Vanilla Silk Soymilk Reason: May contain a caustic, sodium hydroxide based material used to clean and sanitize manufacturing equipment. Distribution: Nationwide.

And may I just say, yuck.

There were technical problems and our vote counter Deena was not receiving completed ballots. It's fixed now. If you already voted, please vote again. Apologies for the inconvenience.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

I have received 27 ballots so far. If you have voted already and have not received a "deena confirmation" please vote again. If you have not yet voted but plan to do so, you should receive a confirmation within 4 hours of your vote . If you do not, please vote again. I would rather get duplicates and have to sort them out than not receive a ballot at all.
