A ghost? What's the deal? Is every frat on this campus haunted? And if so, why do people keep coming to these parties, cause it's not the snacks.

Hey - anyone who's planning on seeing Shir in the NYC/DC area, could you please check in the F2F thread? Trying to get an idea for who can do where and when... I have the ability host Shir both within a short commuter train of NYC and then tooling down the pike to DC, if that would be more convenient for folks further north (like, Vortex, Nanita... those are the names I've seen so far...)

I think Shir is flexible and would love to see as many people as possible, so come help me figure out the wheres and whyfores in F2F, please!

I also need some opinions about logistics that people who are more used to flying out of Newark might be able to help with...

Thanks!

Not javachik

Hi, I've posted about* / offered / am still offering to make basic arrangements for a F2F in Troutdale, Oregon, which is 11 miles (16 mins. by car, an hour by bus) from PDX airport at McMenamins Edgefield.

Prior surveys pointed to late May as being the best time for most people. If someone wants to do a new survey, please do. I don't know how to / don't want to take the time to learn about surveys.

If people are interested in meeting there on/around May 25 weekend of 2025, reservations have to made for rooms a year in advance. I've posted info in F2F, and here is a history article that explains why it's uniquely fabulous. [link]

Oregonians and Washingtonians take all the various McMenamins for granted, because they've grown up going after soccer or to Aunt Linda's wedding or cousin Jim's birthday. As a Nor. Cal person, I wish we had anything close to it. There are so many things to do in one place! Plus it's close to the Sandy River for cool water swimming when it's hot.

Check out info in the F2F Thread and/or email me at profile address. Also, hope to meet Shir, maybe in Seattle instead of SF for me this year.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Shir has arrived in NY! Pics tomorrow!

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

I made an art!

My latest zine, HyperVigil №4, (the most hypervigilant so far!) is up on my new storefront.

And since it’s a new storefront, if you want to buy a copy, could you please be my guinea pig, try it out, and let me know if the store isn’t working, before I announce it to the rest of the world?

Thrive to spite them

Our wings are not tired.

From Allyson, who received the invitation and details from ita's sister.

Hold on a minute!!! It's been ten years since ita left us???
Inconceivable!!
Would you join us in remembering her on Saturday, January 4? Remember how in years past we had a share-the-photo thing of us doing our own memorialising? Well now, we could up the ante with a Zoom call if anyone is interested in that? It would be nice to be together and share memories - jokes and scary things (that last one is probably mostly me) and unbelievable stories, things that have happened since she left that she would be totally excited about (TV shows!! Movies!! and er... Supernatural's...developments!!!). And also, it'd be a great opportunity to catch up on everyone's lives!
For those not into that, you could do the same thing as years past, where you do something you know she loved, and send on a picture. These are ideas I gave last time:
- anything to do with any martial art (her favourite was krav maga - she also loved capoeira) - you could wear a shirt with a martial art image / actually do a couple forms / punch/kick someone in the face/body / wherever
- anything to do with comics - you could wear clothes with the images / you could read one/some / whatever
- anything to do with TV shows like Supernatural / Community / anything Joss Whedon has ever written
- anything to do with superhero movies
- anything to do with the movie Princess Bride
- eating any delicious dessert (she loved baking sweet things!)
- eating any Jamaican food / drink
- playing / dancing / singing along to anything by Prince / Bob Marley
- do something intellectually challenging (e.g. play Scrabble, do an IQ test)
- read a scifi book
- do some drawing / sketching / photography
- etc...
- and wearing pink and black, her favourite colours
Whatever you do, let's do it again at 4pm Jamaica time, which means...
- 4pm on the East Coast of the US and Canada
- 1pm in LA, Vancouver
- 3pm in New Orleans
- 9pm in London
- 10pm in Stockholm
- 8am Sunday in Australia

Here are the Zoom details (I'll send out a reminder closer to next Saturday as well):
Topic: ita!!
Time: 4th January 2025 4:00 pm EST

Can't wait!

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Not really here. Just driving by to wave at the cosmos where they're keeping JZ, and ita, and Ginger, and DX, and everyone else we've lost and whose voices never really completely leave my psyche or my heart. Also to vibe fiercely that those in SoCal right now - my daughter, son in law and granddaughter are in Sherman Oaks, safe so far - to stay alive, and well, and lose nothing that matters to you, when this is finally under control.

If anyone needs or wants dark chocolate fudge or lemony goodness as passing comfort in the darkness, email me at sf_deb@yahoo.com. I don't check in here.

Stay safe and well, people. Over and out.
