Herding cats for fun

How about a spot of good news: the town of Hayward will have an independent book shop once more on Saturday, September 30. Hooray! I am so happy to see we have so many book people here. The community actually came together and helped make it all happen.

Go read something today to celebrate, why not?

move out and draw fire

Hey guys - I work with a startup accelerator specifically for cybersecurity companies called MACH37 and the current cohort has hit the phase where they need to start thinking about marketing. I can talk to them and get them to do some thinking about how to use social media to build their brands, but to a one they are crazy busy and technical and would very much like to pay someone to do social media for them.

So they asked me if I could recommend anyone, and I thought "Who do I know that's savvy about digital natives and online culture and creates great content?" and immediately logged back in here.

If you are interested in some hours a week of paid work as a social media brand manager for a cybersecurity startup, ping me at raq.ximerae@gmail.com and I'll do a warm intro for you.

not your mom's socks.

Heya - I hate doing this but it's important these days - if you are liking any of the books by your friendly neighborhood writers, please consider posting even the briefest of reviews on various sites - it helps. Many thanks

Our wings are not tired.

The NYT reminded me this morning that I have a digital subscription to share with another email address. I've subscribed for a long time and forgot completely that I had an extra address. If anyone here is constantly running out of views on line, or if there is a generic email address I can send it to for Buffista access please let me know.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Tim Minear is allowing me to share the script to Moon Is A Harsh Mistress he wrote in 2005. "It was just gathering dust, anyway."
