Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

So in the midst of dealing with my mom's health issues, I also have a fundraiser walk that I signed up for months ago suddenly staring me in the face. It's this coming Saturday, May 7, and I have really not managed my fundraising at all. I only pledged to try to raise $100 (though at $150 there's apparently a tote bag, I'm such a sucker for a tote bag), and so far all the people who have said they were going to donate haven't, so all I've raised is the extra $25 I kicked in myself.

So, if you happen to have a few dollars you can spare, and would like to sponsor me and support the San Diego Humane Society, here's a link to my page: [link]

Thank you for your support (and I don't just mean moolah)!

OMG, you guys rock so hard! I just checked my page and you so stepped up! It means a lot! Thank you so much!

Cog and the Steel Tower is now available on Kindle for $0.99 and it should be lendable.

If you read Cog and like it please consider leaving a review. I don't have the time or skill to put in a lot of promotion so everything helps.

I just wanted to thank you all again for your support on my fundraiser! I not only got to the tote bag, but the license plate frame! I'll probably even get to the Humane Society branded USB drive, more than I dared to hope for! :)

But seriously, it's a cause I believe in, and the emotional support and cheering section from you guys in the glowy box is a real bright spot at a difficult time.

Thank you!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

A few of us (Suzi, Hil, JZ and I) signed up for GISHWHES again, which is happening July 30 to August 6 this year, and we are on a team with some great people we were paired up with last year.

Does anyone want to join us? [link]

not your mom's socks.

A friend of mine (actually quite a few friends) is donating a 5k critique to the Con-Or-Bust auction if anyone here knows anyone out there who might be interested in supporting a fantastic cause. [link]

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Ironically, it would be a kindness if those of you with Twitter could #renew12Monkeys @SyFy. It's Kristen's show, and any prodding to make up their minds would mean a whole lot. I'm grateful for any signal boosts you can provide.

If there is any interest, I could also mail out a copy (or two) for Buffistas or Buffistas kids or anyone to read and then mail on to the next person.

If interested let me know in e-mail (profile addy) or Natter thread or Facebook or whatever.

I've started doing commute and posts for audiobooks on my blog. I mention this because the first book on my list is Updraft. I've been wanting to read/listen to it and I know it will be good.

First commute and post. Will have spoilers for the book, but there really aren't any big reveals in the first and second updates.
