Sunnydale Press
Having a party? Organizing a local F2F? Know something that we all really need to know? Announce it! Want to discuss anything posted here? Take it to Natter. Any natter here will be deleted.
Apropos of erika's recent post, I have to note as one of the editors of said anthology that it contains a very nice roster of excellent writers but erika's story is still easily one of the three best in it. And if, like many Buffiastas, you're strapped for funds and can't buy a copy, you can still help her (and me and Deb and the whole press) out by requesting a copy from your local library.
But, however you do it, you gotta read erika's story.
Okay, let's see if I can be more organized with this one.
A while back some of us in Natter had been discussing doing a gift type exchange based in large part on TJs holiday seasonal goodies, which are just starting to appear on the shelves, at least where I live.
What I was thinking is that if people emailed me and told me if they a) had a TJs near them, b) if they didn't have a TJs but had some ideas for things to send in exchange or c) did have a TJs but had some ideas of things they would like to send instead, I would try to match up group a) people with group b) and c) people.
If you would be interested in participating, please send me an email with your mailing address and what group you are in and if you like sweet or savory or a mixture of the two.
I already have emails from a few of you from earlier, but if you could send me another one just to confirm that you are still interested, that would be awesome.
If people email me by Friday, I will send out emails next weekend.
The website I'm using to promote both "Solving the Climate Crisis" and the Graphic version "Cooling a Fevered Planet" is on-line. At stcc.be . I'd love feedback. Does the main page look good? Does the graphversion page look good? Is the donate page low key and low pressure enough? Feedback on this and any other issue is very welcome. Either my profile addy or the contact email on the site will work.
I know there are science-types who write amongst us; here's a writing opportunity I came across today: [link]
Bay-istas! I have written the first act of a sci-fi drama in the vein of
Firefly
and
Battlestar Galactica.
(Seriously, it wasn't intentional at all, but I think all the characters can be mapped superficially to
Firefly
characters. But there is a big honking
Firefly
reference, for kicks.) Why only the first act? Because the second act will be improvised. The actors won't know anything about the show until that night, but they'll have costumes and props and a full set (which is going to be awesome). They will cold read the first act, and then we'll all find out together how the play ends.
Come see
Gravity,
my sort-of playwright debut,
at Under the Sun Studios in Concord on November 19! Tickets on sale now!
Update on the borg e-mail list:
*SuziQ and Amy volunteered to be list maintainters, too. Yay, and thank you. So if you want to add/change your info. or use the list, contact Amy, JenP, or SuziQ.
*Several people suggested including physical mailing addresses, so if you'd like yours added, just respond with your physical mailing address once you get the test e-mail. Also indicate whether it can be shared with registered buffistas, same as e-mail.
*You don't need to respond to the test e-mail unless you want to add your physical address or have a question or something, BUT if you don't get it and think you should have, please e-mail SuziQ, Amy, or JenP.
You can join the list or take yourself off of the list anytime you like, of course.

Hey gamers, nascent gamers, and general sci-fi-ish type people. Or, you know, just anybody. We just finished up a round of our thrilling version of Battlestar Buffistica over in the Gaming thread. Accusations were flung, lives were lost, and puns were made.
Want in on the fun? The next game is set to begin, so if you're interested in checking it out, stop on by and say so. Just want to watch? I bet you could convince gamemaster extraordinaire billytea to send you game updates along with the players.
You don't have to own the physical game to play, although it helps. bt is great with newbies, so even if you haven't gamed before, this is a great entry. You just need to be able to check in once a day or so.
Come on in, the water's infested with potential robotic overlords!
