hmmm...
Some people are making a big deal about how Buffy's ratings were "off by a whopping 37%" from last year.
Buffy's normal-sized premiere garnered a 3.9 rating compared to last year's whopping 6.2 for her ressurrection.
But last year *was a media event* you can't compare them. more money was thrown at announcing the switch, the death of Buffy and advertisement to let people know that Buffy had switched networks.
So How does it compare to other season premieres?
In reverse Chronology:
Lessons: 3.9
Bargaining 6.2 (disputed. site below says it averaged 4.3)
Buffy Vs Dracula had a 3.9 rating
Freshman got a higher 4.4 rating.
Anne had a 4.7
When She Was Bad had a 2.9!
Welcome To The Hellmouth had a 3.4
About middle of the pack, if you discount the over hyped S6 premiere.
So, The Buffy ratings are back to "normal"
Ratings are from:

Somervillians/Bostonians/New Englanders
I'm going to be in your neck of the woods for both the Angel premiere on Sunday, Oct. 6th, and also Buffy on Oct. 8th.
I want to see all of you! If I can't see you on Tuesday because of scheduling (Looks at Victor) or because of the longass commute (looks at DXM), maybe I can see you on Sunday. Or vice versa.
I don't know who (if anybody) was planning on hosting an Angel premiere - but I'll probably be there.
I think (though this is not certain) that Jon was willing to host Buffy the night I was there.
Anyway, talk amongst yourselves. There are so many New Englanders I want to meet (like Ellen and Nora and TomW and, uh Oh! VW bug) and the only way I'll catch up with all of you is by these gatherings. Uh, and I wouldn't mind playing the Buffy board game too.
Zap2it online has a "The 2002 Showdown of the Network Stars" Again.
Both David Boreanez and Sarah Michelle Gellar have survived the first two cuts.
Last year, SMG was inched out by Gillian Anderson.
If any Boston-based Buffistas are interested, I'm going to see Aranarjuat at the David Square Cinema tonight to reward myself for the stultifyingly boring day I've had studying VBA. It starts at 8PM. Warning - it's 2hr and 52 minutes long.
Ahem!
Pictures of the Trudy-fest that took place in Halifax earlier this month are now available.
There are five albums to peruse, though two of them are named very much alike. There will be more pictures added to the Goth Night album once I get that roll developed.
Season 3 DVDs will be released January 7th, 2003 per Amazon.com - their price is $44.99 for the 6 disk set.
The preorder is already listed as DVD sales rank of 6.
Hi all,
The books are here! They are totally adorable, and lots of other words that mean, "awwwwww."

A couple of you more creative types are sending handmade things. Any idea when I can expect them? No huge pressure, just let me know a target date for completion.
Thanks so much to everyone for their donations, ideas, and support.
Any Buffistae who have LiveJournals, I just registered so I could read stuff, so if you consider me your friend, could you please add me to your Friends list? So I can read the juicy stuff? I'm registered there as RioH.
