Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If you wanted to take part in a fandom auction for charity to benefit Japan's tsunami recovery, help_japan is about to wrap up. You can bid donations against various fanworks--stories, pictures, vids, etc. It all ends tomorrow. Go, snipe.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Hi everyone. Over in the Gaming thread, we're preparing to play another round of the Battlestar Galactica board game. We're planning to start over the weekend of April 9/10. We have four players signed up so far, and there's room for another one or two players. I'm putting the call out for anyone who'd like to give it a try. If any newbies would like to try it out, we'd be happy to have you on board. Experience is not necessary; we offer excellent support, and it can be quite an experience. This will be the eighth game we've played in the Gaming thread, and people keep coming back for more, so I think it has a lot going for it.

Please come over to the Gaming thread (or email me directly) if you'd like to know more.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I have written up a large post with recommendations for how you can best participate in disaster relief regarding the Tohoku earthquake and subsequent tsunami. Please take a look and consider giving your resources and time. Feel free to share.

In the interest of not burying the lede, my top two recommendations are Christian org: CRASH Japan and Japanese NGO: JEN, both of which were existing disaster relief organizations based in Japan, which were therefore able to sidestep some of the bureaucratic barriers larger orgs have faced and were providing support almost immediately. They both provide both long and short term services, physical and psychological, and both are doing a good job listening to victims needs and requests, with third party confirmation that the aid is reaching those in need.
