Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Well, it looks like March 1st will be my long-awaited foot surgery.

I'm pretty much intensely nervous and trying to get logistics under control -- I can't be alone much for a couple of weeks and I certainly won't be running any errands. I'm going to bet right now that being a grownup sitter is going to have been easier than finding and having them.

Compassionately intolerant

Javachik asked for a repost of my Petflow, pet food delivery link. I am extremely grateful to anyone who uses it.

Many thanks!

Art Crawl!!!

Firefly to be rebroadcast on Cable TV:

The Science Channel has acquired the rights to the cult-hit and will air the series in its short-lived entirety, plus some new extras. Science Channel will wrap each episode with interstitial segments starring renowned physicist Dr. Michio Kaku, who will discuss the theoretical science behind the show’s sci-fi concepts.

They have a brief interview with Nathan Fillion (at link above) and this scheduling information:

Firefly premieres on Science Channel on March 6 at 8 p.m., with the two hour pilot, followed by the first episode at 10 p.m. Following that, Firefly episodes will air every Sunday — and, yes, in their original intended order and upgraded to high definition.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Firefly Watch&Post reminder: tonight at 5:30pm PST/Board Time (8:30pm EST) we shall view "Jaynestown".

Because books.

Buffista authors, I updated our Powell's bookshelf. We have twenty-six books on there now, everything that Powell's had in stock that I knew of. Check it out, and if you know a Buffista author whose book is missing, let me know.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

(Not sure if this should be in Beep Me or here...)

I asked amyth if there was anywhere I could send flowers and/or make a donation in her brother's name, and she asked me to pass on the information to any other Buffistas who wanted it. So, if anyone would like to, please email me (profile address is good) and I'll send you the information. (I decided not to post it here, since it includes her brother's full name.)

Not sure how many here feed their cats Wellness. Just in case someone here has not heard it, that needs to, there is a voluntary recall on some Wellness canned cat foods, related to thiamine deficiencies. More information here: [link] As far as I can tell, the company is handling the error responsibly, and I will not hesitate to continue recommending the brand in general.
