Hello, all! Knowing how we all love our latest-and-greatest technology, I thought I'd post this request here.
I'm looking for a couple of used digital cameras that people would be interested in donating for the cost of postage. I'd like to do a photo documentation project with the kids in my after school program this year. So, if you've recently upgraded your digital camera and have an extra one hanging around, could you e-mail me (vrwinters at gmail dot com)? Thanks!
Signal boosting a fandom bake sale/charity auction that's going on to raise money for a family in the community that's been hit with the double whammy of unemployment + heart problems that require surgery. Details on the community page: [link]
It's October. The Delurk month. The thread is open. Stand up and be counted, even if it's only the once: "Delurking 1 -- Because we don't always check our e-mail."
Buffistas, a certain new justice at the highest court in the land is looking for an admin assistant. If anyone is interested you must have some legal background and be fluent in Spanish. Profile addy is good.
Hey, y'all. Dove is giving up to $500K to nonprofit organizations to help support girls' self-esteem, but they need people to sign up and designate which of three groups to give to. Please do it! The site is here: [link] I work for the group on the right, so please pick that one! But no pressure.
My latest recap of
How I Met Your Mother
(ep. 5-3) is up at TWoP. The Empress makes a guest appearance in it (the recap, not the episode. Sadly). Here's a [link]
In addition to HIMYM, I'm also recapping
The Vampire Diaries.
Some other old friends of ours make appearances, basically weekly. You know the ones. The recaps are here: [link]
Doggy-owning people: just wanted to make sure you've heard about the canine influenza and available vaccine. [link]
My Fay-inspired Romancing the Blog post is now up. Thanks Fay for the flash of inspiration and thanks Buffistas, because it's a bit of a love letter to the group as a whole.

If any of you have been interested in checking out ebooks but haven't gotten around to it yet, Drollerie Press books are all on sale for $1.99 or less through Sunday. [link]
The books are available primarily in PDF, ePUB, Mobipocket, Microsoft Reader, and Sony Reader. Connie Neil has a couple of short stories in the horror antho Bump in the Night, Amy has a free short story, as do I. Deborah Grabien has two novels available, and some of you may know Mary Borsellino, whose YA is a real treat. There's something for anyone into any kind of speculative fiction.
I hope no on feels obligated or annoyed by this post. I just wanted to let you know in case anyone wanted to buy a book but hadn't gotten around to it yet.

Folks who may be DVR or TIVO recording House and/or Lie to Me on the East Coast - I think the currently 11-inning playoff game is going to disrupt things. I'm going to post this in press, just in case.
